Im a little skeptical going forward that the Foos will play festivals that arent either Rock exclusive or marketed for Gen X (Kaboo/Bottlerock)
yeah I mean no Foo's at Roo made me a little more skeptical as well. I just think that there has to be a reason they aren't playing Open Air. Whether that be Lolla or Wrigley I'm not sure.

They clearly enjoy playing Lolla, and Lolla is one of the few big fests that's still willing to emphasize straight ahead rock music.
Sources who generally know what the Wrigley schedule is have stated they're not doing it this year. I can't imagine them skipping Open Air for no reason, so they are likely playing Riot Fest or Lollapalooza. Given the aforementioned relationship (including an official aftershow in 17 when they didn't even play the fest), and the fact that Chevy Metal is playing a gig in MN that same week, I'd say Lolla seems the most likely.
I think it’s worth nothing that Foo Fighters missing from Open Air is highly suspicious given that the same people book that and Sonic Temple and they’re playing Sonic Temple. It would have made sense for them to be booked for both unless there’s a reason they couldn’t do a Chicago festival.
If we entertain the poster on the Lolla subreddit who said there is a US festival exclusive in the Top 4, 21P being on Boston Calling helps narrow things down a bit.
I still am skeptical of Kendrick being worth locking in "exclusivity" on, given that he's played a ton of festivals in the past 2 years. He also isn't actively touring at the moment, so unless he has new music coming out prior to Lolla that seems like a stretch.
So some potential options that would work in the Top 4: Lady Gaga (unclear if Vegas residency is exclusive), Sia, Smashing Pumpkins, Justin Timberlake (unlikely, but maybe the Coachella cancellation opened him up), Kanye (hahaha -- also, would not have been exclusive until like 2 weeks ago), Frank Ocean, Drake (OVOfest makes it hard), Rihanna, Jay-Z (probably not touring), Green Day (more likely for Riot Fest) and Pearl Jam (hard to imagine with Foos likely, but yes please).
Boston Calling got twenty one pilots. Also booked Tame 3 which could equate to 5 at Lolla.
Foo Kendrick Twenty One Pilots Florence + The Machine Tame Impala Cardi B Skrillex A$AP
Pilots/ASAP Kendrick/Tame Foo/Cardi B Florence/Skrillex
Tame and Skrillex are arguably south headliners at this point and Childish Gambino has got be very likely considering he's making the rounds (Bonnaroo, Coachella). He's basically this year's LCD Soundsystem.

The last two years, all 3 Boston Calling headliners were artists that would be South headliners. Tool, Mumford, Chance and then Eminem, The Killers, and Jack White. I think Twenty One Pilots and Tame Impala are both gonna be at Lolla and South (even though Travis Scott is 2 here and he was a North headliner last year, he was booked before Astroworld)
Kind of sucks that Coachella stole Lolla’s Thunder on booking Ariana. Now that she rescheduled dates for Coachella, it moved her 2 Chicago dates into June meaning she’s now playing Chicago 3 times in 2/3 months.
Ariana - Foos - TOP - Tame as a top 4 would sell incredibly well
Seems a little too stacked considering Jack White was #3 at BC and #3 at Lolla last year. I feel like TOP would at the very least be #2 given how well their arena tour sold. As well as the fact that they're billed #1 at BC. I could see: Ariana - TOP - Tame - Flume (depending if he has any more #1 singles before then)
Lolla loves to book artists as they rise in popularity. They booked them in 2013 when they were smaller, 2015 when Blurryface hit big, and I would not be surprised if they book them this year at their peak.
