Seems like running from the Verte to the Main Stages could get difficult when the sun goes down.
So for me it looks like I'll have to cut Rufus short for a good spot at Logic? My wife really wants to see him so should I just skip Rufus all together?
I do love how close the De L'ile is to the Mains. There has to be some sound bleed though right?

could be different now with the renovations (lot of trees cut) but the distance is the same as it was in 2016 and there was no sound bleed then.
Strongly considering this festival for the first time. Only a 12 hour drive away and lovely lineup, why not?
Couple of perhaps different questions hopefully someone can help out with.
1. Any recommendations of somewhere I could park to sleep in my car? Closer is obviously better, but really just somewhere safe where nobody is likely to bother me:-)
2. Were folks selling wristbands out front (like most city festivals)? I would likely just drive without a pass in hand and see what kind of discount I can pull 2nd hand. Seems I could buy one at the gate worst case scenario. Though I would likely have to get Canadian cash first. Or recommendations of how to get a ticket in Canada 2nd hand?
3. Opinions on GA vs Gold vs Platinum. On paper doesn't seem like Gold gets you much of anything. Platinum is a nice price, but without free food and drinks is mostly the viewing access. (Voodoo Platinum is the best deal going anywhere fyi) I will be in the dance area (Island stage) a ton (skipping Lumineers, Logic, and probably Tame and Childish too), so will likely go GA.
Can't recommend Rufus enough to who was asking above, they are one of my main draws. Ruled at Voodoo and Bonnaroo and the Coachella stream. First Chemical Brothers show is a sight to behold. Saturday is a ridiculous all day run of music! I was originally going to just do Saturday, but why not do all 3 if I drive that far?

1) uhhhh 2) I don't recall seeing people selling wristbands outside the gates, but I'm sure you could find a last-minute deal if you also look at sub-reddits, FB groups, and other online places where people might be selling 3) Stick with GA
Ended up getting tickets to Fisher and Bob Moses so that should be fun. its a shame the Rufus one is a DJ set. also a massive disappointment theres no Kaytra, ski, black madonna or sebastian after show.

grabbed tickets to Fish as well. Wouldn’t be surprised if New City Gas has some shows added sometime next week.

Apparently the new city gas ones arent in conjunction with Osheaga so the artists will be different.

It was a little difficult to navigate, but I think if you look up Montreal public parking prior to your arrival you can easily locate lots where you can park all weekend for under $60 CAD. We ended up not needing it but there were plenty of options to re-up on your phone from an app or browser
they start late. we had no issue last year after staying for headliners. if mstrkrft is in the same place as last year id skip it. that place was rough. hot as hell, so loud you legit couldnt hear anyone. i couldnt even last more than half that show.
I am a happy boy today. We rearranged some appointments and activities, so the wife and I are on the way to Montreal for our first Osheaga! The weather looks great, and the schedule works out conflict-free for the acts we want to see.
We've been to a dozen festivals, so we know the basics- water, sunscreen, good footwear, etc., but- does anyone have tips/advice for Osheaga newbies, specific to this festival? Like:
1) Is Metro/subway the best way to get there and back, from downtown hotels? 2) Do they have 3-day Metrocards, or should we just buy three round trips? 3) Is getting out after the headliner a shitshow? How much wait time should we expect? 4) Has anyone ever walked to the north part of the island and walked over the Jacques-Cartier Bridge? It looks like a mile-plus walk to the Papineau Metro stop- which would beat standing for an hour in a subway line. 5) Other tips?

1) Yes. 2) Three years ago you could buy special Osheaga Metrocard that lasted during the duration of the festival, so I'm assuming you can do the same thing again. 3) Expect a half hour wait or so. I would just have a seat somewhere and chill. 4) Plenty of people do this every year, but the wait for the metro really isn't that bad. 5) Beware of the fire hoses at the main stages that will shoot water over everybody. Even during the headliners.

I'll add
2) yes, the 3 day cards will be available for sale starting Thursday at a few subway stations, and all subway stations on Friday I believe 3) it's gotten better over the past few years. I imagine Friday will be a piece of cake because I doubt the Lumineers are going to have a big crowd 5 marijuana is legal here now and the fest allows you to bring a shit load if that's your thing. Just make sure you buy from a gov't source and bring it in sealed packaging (I doubt they'll be enforcing the sealed rule much, but it's what the website says)

Just found out there is a free bus that picks up at the entrance to the festival and takes you over to the casino. Fuck yea. Who's gonna degen with me every night after the festival?
