Not sure if I'm going to get the TOO BUKU or just do the VIP 21+ next year.
1) We got in early and shit wasn't ready yet, so we never figured out the concierge service and drink delivery. 2) Rooftop with waiter service wasn't that much greater than the other part of the rooftop. 3) Crawfish boil was shitty because you got a small Styrofoam bowl of crawfish. While decent, it wasn't worth the time out of the fest to get them. 4) Locker is fine, massage therapist was pretty much booked up. 5) Laminate and Lanyard are fine as is the 1 free after-party of your choice. But I'm not sure those perks are really worth an extra $150. I'll decide tomorrow.
I hope AEG doesn’t ruin it but I still think it will have enough shit to have a couple fun days. Excision, Skrillex, Rocky? Plus whoever Goldenvoice wants to promote for the spring and early summer. I haven’t heard shit. In the past they’d circulate the Buklues around the holidays, but last year they did Phase 1 in early November and Phase 2 in early December. I hope they don’t schedule any wimp-out rap acts who can’t get the hood authority to play here. It can’t be that difficult with a couple of phone calls you wouldn’t think.

Yeah they usually do i think but saw it on my memories on fb yesterday and was like hmmm they’ve haven’t even announced a lineup date this year like normal
I'm getting nervous, my girl have responded and that's not like her. I hope this is happening.
I got a ticket a while back. AEG and/or Goldenvoice are making enough money on it. I don’t know if it will be as big next year because a lot of the land around the power plant is torn up for some type of construction or remediation. Dropping it back to like 14/15k from the 17+ they had last year would be better.

They have organized all of that are are communicating with us every day. Just nothing about the lineup
She does think it's strange about the lineup, clues and that it's in basically 3 1/2 months.
Someone on Reddit says that in Buku's last Instagram, they tagged GRiZ and Chance the Rapper. I don't know how to check that and don't have Instagram. That would be a pretty excellent start. GRiZ is usually in town in some capacity for Buku or they give him a late show. But both have been scheduled before, so it might just be a shout-out. IDK. Someone else mentioned Excision has the 22nd and 23rd (as well as the 21st) blocked off his poster. But he's on the west coast then, so I'd think he's going to be out. Hopefully they will stop dicking around and release the lineup. Being a Goldenvoice festival with likely more overlap with Coachella than Hangout, I'm not sure what they're waiting for. Release the lineup or put out some clues dix.
Also, RL Grime is the music in the video announcement which if it holds true to last year with Rezz's music and she was there, that's their way of shouting out RL on the lineup. I've liked him in the past, but the last show I saw was a bit of a letdown.

Hmmm. Might just be a shout out then. @hugogyrl is You Go Girl the graffiti artist, and Upbeat Academy is the non-profit that teaches kids how to DJ and produce. They dig GRiZ who is family to Buku and I guess they love Chance since Winter Circle booked his last show. It would still be cool if Chance was going to perform since I haven't seen him for a few years.
seems like lil wayne would be a given this year, no?
He does his own thing in October called Lil Weeziana Fest which is a one night rap show at Champion's Square. I think they've done 3 or 4 so far, and it sells out every year for the 7-8k people that area can fit. I guess he could do Buku as well, but I don't know if there is a stipulation that he can't do other shows or not.
We should be getting a lineup for this soon right?
Hopefully. We should have gotten a phase 1 by now. Next week maybe? Luckily Winter Circle is still in on Buku so it’s not going to be all Hangout like with whomever Goldenvoice has booking that. Both fests could use the agency formerly known as Huka Entertainment assisting their lineups, but where Hangout is now beach pop, Buku should hopefully still have an edge.
We don’t care. That’s not a major play either way. If she gets main stage and shows up on time and fulfills her obligation to play at least 40 minutes, great. But if not, there should be other acts at the VIP, Float Den and Ballroom. Bring her on.
