Well I mean this isn't a knock on Mr. O or whatever.
1) It's about her coming on stage in her hometown after about 40 minutes of the set had elapsed only to bitch that it was cold which was out of character from some of her previous comments. Allegedly she rapped a couple songs and left. Fuck that.
2) She played some random show in New Orleans when she was initially blowing up, and they didn't pay her so she made everyone wait until around 3 in the morning before treating her fans to 2 rap songs.

Go Cardi!
I wasn't at the Joy Theater show last year, but I heard she killed it and played the whole time. I didn't hear about any of what you are saying at all.
Agreed. She makes obvious sense in the Top 3 or 4, but if they end up with Rocky or Chance or someone like that as 1, they might dial back and go midcard with the rappers again - particularly since there were some noshows this year that hopefully Goldenvoice has punished (Ski Mask, Famous dex, Uzi Vert).

Honestly, if she didn't get paid, I don't blamer her at all. You know how many artist would even come on stage and do 2 songs if they were paid? NONE. That is how many. I mean it sucks, but business is business.

I'm not disagreeing with that. The girl who I know who was there said she pretty much just made everyone wait until the wee hours to come out. It's not the paying fans' fault that whomever put this on skipped out with the money. Now she did kind of welch out at Day for Night though. She got paid (probably?) and still only gave it a lick and a promise.
OTOH, I heard the Joy show was good from one of her fans. And also she came out and did Coachella pregnant which I thought was a strong move by her.
put death grips in the float den and i will buy a ticket immediately
lol that would scare off all the plur kids. Have them close the Ballroom and completely tear the place down
They did A Day to Remember and Falling in reverse in the Ballroom last year. ADTR was packed with lots of slamming and crowd surfing and all. There's isn't much video out there on YouTube from that set for whatever reason except for the one of almost the whole show on the rail that doesn’t show the crowd almost at all. Also, Falling in Reverse played it as well and sounded pretty good. Both sets were well attended, and a lot of people (including me) thought ADTR was a highlight. It also proved you can merge multiple genres into their format. They hadn't done any hard rock up until last year, but they had certainly done some rock and jam (Lotus, Primus, Explosions in the Sky) in prior years.
It seems to me that maybe with Jimmy Eat World playing Hangout, they would be a possibility if Buku wanted to continue experimenting with rock in the ballroom. I don't have an opinion on them.

I still think R.L. Grime and GRiZ are near locks. But I still haven't heard any rumors and usually by this close to lineup drop, I'd have gotten stuff from some of my sources. Maybe if I go out to Minnesota and Charlesthefirst tonight I can ask around.

I was going to say, Josh (works with thejeremy for Fess and my niece's fiancé) said the "Joy Show was off the hook and was fire." I'd see her in a heartbeat.
Hangout just not hitting on it this year, huh? You thinking about coming back down again? You were here for 2016, right?
hangout not so shitty i wouldnt go, but def lacking & I wouldnt invest for VIP. i'd still have a great time in the gulf (bc i love that area) but probably wouldnt be doing full days of 11am-11pm like normal. there would def be a lot more beach time if we went for this one.
sucks too bc i've been requesting galantis, gorgon city and jungle for like 4 years, then they book when im not going. but i can fux w/ Travis, Lumineers, Vampire Weekend, Cardi, Kygo, Diplo, Griz, Alison, Jungle,Gorgon, Hippie,Mura masa, sir sly, elohim, superorganism, madeintyo, gang of youths, buddy, shame, moon boots but ive seen the bulk of them before so no loss.

Damn right it would. I mean in all seriousness, how much different would that be than when $uicideboy$ closed it one night in 2017? I know $B have the NOLA connection but still.
Just shitposting but I’d be surprised if she’s not on this
She’s too big for this imo
It's only 17-18,000 people. But she's not that big. I mean when you consider some of the top people from the last few years, she's about right there in my opinion (Migos, Bassnectar, Deadmau5, Travis Scott, RTJ, Pretty Lights, Kid Cudi, Future (who is big here), Rocky, Guetta, Flaming Lips (The Terror tour), Calvin Harris, etc.). She played Joy Theater a while back which holds maybe 1,200 people. It's not like she's selling out the Smoothie King Center or Superdome.
Hector,
$uicide closed Float Den that year which I think was their first ever show here. Now they sell out whatever venue they play in obviously. I'm not a giant fan, but I saw them at that show, saw them come out with Rich Chigga @ '17 Voodoo and then I saw them come out and rap with Denzel Curry early in the year.

Was that really their first show in New Orleans? That's surprising to me.
Either way, that was more in reference to there being precedent for an act like Death Grips playing Float Den instead of just electronic acts. $B and Death Grips obviously aren't exactly the same but for a festival like Buku, I think they're pretty much in the same funnel (fucking loud and weird hip hop).
G. Jones is clue #2 Ella Mai (English R&B singer/songwriter) is clue #3
While The Humanoid Must Not Escape is annoying, I always thought Greg was a great young producer. No hate, but I still think he went too much toward a house-ier set at Day for Night. I still liked it but I liked all the other times (3?) I’ve seen him more.
They're dropping Buklues when last year the lineup was dropping at this time? Wow.
Last year had Phase 1 in November. But they also backed the date up a couple weeks. Lineup is this week though they haven't said if it's the full lineup or just the majority in a Phase 1.
Their site says Tier 1 pricing expires on Tuesday at midnight. This seems to indicate that the lineup would be out on Wednesday maybe or Thursday at the latest.
Tickets are back on sale Friday which means that the lineup is either today or tomorrow. If they're going to milk it for two days, they should release another clue or two. Fux.
