I think he’s as big as Gesa especially assuming he drops LP2 before next April.
I don’t think so, Gesa became a super popular name from those few songs with The Weeknd
Mojave closer makes more sense
I went to Google Trends expecting this to be wrong, but there actually was a huge spike when "Lost in the Fire" dropped. I still think on the whole, Jamie xx and Gesaffelstein aren't that far apart. Jamie has a lot more crossover appeal
RTJ isn't big enough to sub. I'm a huge RTJ fan, and they're well known on the internet, critical acclaim. But if you ask a ton of people in person, they probably never heard of Run the Jewels. Night Sahara is literally perfect for them. I'd assume Yung Thug gets on with a new album, almost 100% positive that Lil Uzi returns 2020, Logic has to play eventually, J Cole is just in that weird spot to where he's headline or bust and I don't think they'd want him to headline. Unless he was a replacement. Surprised Big Sean hasn't played yet also, could definitely see him at the end of the 2nd line. Isaiah Rashad has to be playing with a new album. G Eazy is about due for a return
Any chance we get Danger Mouse? Had that Lux Prima album with Karen O this year. His set would be kinda nuts because his work is so diverse. The artists he's worked with: Norah Jones, Ceelo Green, Jack White, MF DOOM, Karen O, Electric Guest, Portugal The Man, Gorillaz, U2, Daniele Luppietc. etc. Sunset into darkness on the Outdoor would be perfect.
There’s no way they risk booking Morrissey, right? Seems like he’d be great to draw in the old heads and the Latinx audience, but I assume he’s too, uh, mercurial for the fest to go for.
Edit: I’m watching Ant Man FYI
I saw him at Coachella back in 2009 when he ran off the stage because of some roasted chicken sticks. Doubt they’d have him back after that

Thank you for the lecture. This does not change my opinion that RTJ *deserve* to sub.

I see RTJ subbing before they get put in Sahara. My guess would be outdoor at night sometime, though. I really don’t see them being in Sahara at all.

It was mentioned on the first page of this thread, but I definitely think Lorde could come back and headline with a new album, I'd say there's an even better chance of that than Rihanna or Taylor Swift. I wouldn't be surprised if it went Chance the Rapper / Timberlake / Lorde
Re: Solange...I don't know why they would bring her back as a sub in a year where it's clear they need to move tickets when she is going to be 13 months away from an album that landed with a whimper.
Re: Lorde...not even close to big enough to headline.
Well, Janelle Monae and HAIM were subheadliners much after their albums came out, so I wouldn't be surprised if they booked Solange again. That is my reasoning.

Both were within a year of playing Coachella though, which seems like the key timeframe. That said, Solange is an x-factor since she dropped out; if she hadn't been booked for this year, there's no way she'd be booked for 2020 based on that album release date. I still don't think she's re-booked this time though.
I have a confession, I know I'm not gonna get the okay from the wife to attend Coachella 2020 but here I am looking at houses for next year on VRBO. I need help.
I think there will be a better mix of larger rock/indie. edm, hip hop, and r&B. I think that will start at the top, personally I would like to see a Frank Ocean/The Cure/Lorde top line, with Subs being Chance, Chem Bros, and Lana. I think with that you could fill out the lineup with a bunch of different genres and types and ensure a broad selection of people attend with different musical tastes. THis year honestly it seemed like it was pretty diverse and all the crowds were respectable but then again it did not sell well.

I wasn't disagreeing with you. Honestly they "deserve" to headline if we're going off of body of work and not popularity. I mean if RTJ4 is as good as we all think it will be, that's 4 amazing albums, in the span of 6 years, that never dropped the ball.
Closing the Outdoor would be cool too but I'm not sure how large of a crowd they would have. I guess it depends on the headliners. Ex: I think RTJ would have pulled a huge crowd 2019 but not 2018 because of the who Beyonce and co brought in
