Seems like if the Yuma could accommodate Bodzin then it could work for KLO.
That smaller DJ stage was fine for her at FYF
It can fit her, but her music doesn't work in the Yuma stylistically is what I'm saying. The Outer Space stage at FYF doesn't have the same vibe (or uniformity of programming, they mixed it up a little bit)

She was great at FYF though
Is there anything Jones can say you won’t just reflexively disagree with?

If I'm coming off that way, my bad. I don't mean to.
I don't think she works in the Yuma, but I've been wrong plenty of times and I'll be wrong plenty of times more. Literally all it is, don't mean it personally. I apologize jones.
This was my first year at the festival. Between the crowd, new location, and stages the Do Lab showed why they are some of the best at curating a festival.
Crowd size, vibe, weather were all largely perfect. We had a lightning storm that shut down the festival on Thursday, but otherwise things were very smooth at the new spot. Decreased capacity and lax security made navigating the festival easy.
Standout performances +Lane 8 - owned the festival on Saturday night. Several thousand danced for two hours at woogie, enjoying remixes from Virtual Self, Rüfüs, and George Fitzgerald. +desert dwellers - reminded me of a fucked up version of aphex +shiba San , Escapade +frameworks, Aabo(amazing early day set) +fly Lo - promised to “trip us the Fuck out” and delivered. 3D set did not require glasses but they did enrich the set. Killer Michael Jackson remix he has + new material with Anderson Paak. +khruangbin- we missed their set at iii points and Coachella, but seeing them here was perfect. Huge crowd that loved the hip hop melody. +Soulection - made for the thunder stage. Set for stardom. +disclosure - I was so dead by Sunday night, but they murdered it. The crowd was engaged and feeling good. They mixed their tracks in well and brought out Chanel Tres at one point +the fungineers- so crunchy. I was feeling good enough to get into this set. It was strange having so many kids nearby.
Missed g Jones, Koze, and the polish ambassador. They run 3 headliners concurrently each night. Kinda tough , but easy enough to split sets. I couldn’t bring myself to leave lane 8.
Overall I hope for a good amount of crossover for next year. I think Disclosure (live), shiba, lane 8, and flying lotus would all be great choices for 2-4 lines.
The music does not stack up to Coachella, but the experience and the crowd more than made up for that deficiency. I will be back next year, though I wish there was more space between Chella and L I B

I really expected the Hives to be on this year's lineup after they were announced for a couple random shows but maybe we'll get them next year instead.
After seeing the chems again last night I'd really want them to make a return to Coachella too!
So testpilot will be the Diet Pepsi to Cirez D’s Diet Coke?
Would Maetrik be Diet RC Cola?
Maetrik absolutely demolished CRSSD. Blew my expectations out of the water. I'd hope for him to be booked for a late night tent set a la his Maceo moniker in 2018.

Does anyone legitimately think Solange returns? It will be so far after her album release and that seems to be everyone's stock answer about James Blake being booked "no dude too far from album lulz"
I highly doubt she comes back. They left her on the damn poster for goodness sake.

Agree. She's not coming back unless there's another album coming that no one knows about
Did they really leave her on the poster? After talking about how they were delaying the posters to make sure they were accurate? lol
"Legendary electro duo" is laying it on a little thick. I saw 20 minutes of Justice and it was good. Janelle Monae was way better. I went to 3/4 of those years and didn't see any of the other listed names, so I guess I don't get my value from the 4-9 spots.
There's no accounting for taste in these threads......
"Way better" is so incredibly subjective. Tons of attendees felt the exact opposite. It's tough to weigh "stronger second lines" vs "weaker" when we have such varied opinions among the boardies.
I think the best way to measure is performance-caliber. Can we objectively say Janelle performs "better" than Justice? No. But I think we can all agree SZA and Khalid weren't ready to put on sub-headlining level PERFORMANCES regardless of streaming #s/ticket sales/whatever.

You seriously responded to a post from weeks ago just to propose some abitrary, highly subjective way to judge sub-headliner worthiness? And I don't think we can all agree that SZA was a bad choice. She blew up between the poster and the festival and it looked like Coachella was ahead of the curve.

SZA and Khalid weren't bad choices as subs, at all. SZA only felt a tad weird because she was on the bottom of the line up 2 years prior and she went from TDE underground cult following to massive mainstream success with her CTRL album. Also didn't help that she went on before The Weeknd and with Beyonce the next day, it felt like R&B overload, which it was. But she deserved the slot and I felt that she put on a REALLY good show, only gripe was that her set was cut really short but that's not her fault. I'm not a fan of Khalid, personally, but he deserved that slot, didn't see him but I've heard that his shows are kinda boring. Not any worse than a HAIM booking, Lorde's performance wasn't really memorable to me, shrug.

Agreed that the HAIM selection for a pre-HL was a much bigger head-scratcher than Khalid or SZA.
SO much good music coming out 2019 has me excited for Coachella 2020. Shame that it's unlikely Tyler, The Creator comes back after how poor his crowds were 2018 (due to Beyonce camp but it was a bad feel). Plus I feel like after Igor, Tyler is headliner or bust and they won't book him as a headliner. FlyLo was solid, RTJ coming up, Melanie Martinez is finally back.
