Can I just attend Coachella in full protective gear? I had to wear a mask most of the last time I went anyway because the dust was out of control. I'm willing to wear gloves for 3 days straight. Anything!

A Reddit user said that GV is trying to move 2021 to October instead of April. It makes sense since that’s when LN predicts that concerts and festivals will be back in full force.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

writing has been on the wall for this for more than a month. Wonder how people will take it.

Do you think that the 2020 headliners will move over to that time? It’s hard envisioning Frank willing to do that.

I know I posted this about a month ago but I heard this as well

No, everybody keeps getting that quote wrong from the LN CEO. They expect a 2021 return, not late 2021.
THIS.
The other part of the quote is that “full scale” are q3/q4 from what theyre projecting. And i think most people are not understanding those timings either. Theyre confusing a calendar year with a fiscal year. The Rapino quote thats taken is using that timing. If it was Actually “late 2021” Rapino wouldve mentioned Q1 2022, and he didnt. So pretty much LN is going to gear up for next summer to be fully back in business.
This is from the Variety story:
“So I think in the Fall [ 2020 ] you’ll see more experimenting and more shows happening in a theater setting, into some arenas. And then our goal is really to be on sale in the third and fourth quarters for 2021 at full scale.”

I wonder how many of these albums would have been released by Coachella and they just sat on them because of the postponement
This crossed my mind, but I think they would've at least been announced if it were the case, unless they were meant to be surprise drops. They're getting announced 3+ months in advance right now. And I'm not sure what they'd really be gaining by waiting to release.
I dont see you presenting anything thats an even remotely viable idea. You have to have these random af ideas and then fine tune it. So yeah, give us something which is achievable from a logistics standpoint, not batshit crazy and that people would buy into. At this point everyone wouldnt care if you had to be a in a cube to watch live music. Nobody here has even gone to a drive in concert yet and are “over it”. Its either that or everyone waits another 15 months for anything. 🤷🏻♂️

You're right, I don't have a remotely viable alternative idea. Because there aren't any. Putting people in boxes for a music festival is still patently stupid. The only thing remotely approaching a good idea is the drive in concert concept, which is going to have limited value in and of itself but at least it's something.
