Seeing RHCP in 2007 touring a reasonably good album with Frusciante was great. They’ve made nothing of value since then, and the shows I saw of theirs at Coachella ‘13 and OSL were suuuuuper dull. There’s absolutely zero reason for them to play again unless they magically make good music again, and there’s zero reason for anyone to care about seeing them unless it’d be the first time.
But they’re not playing regardless, Boston Calling basically assures that.
Why do April dates before and after Coachella including the US make you think Primavera/September? Not that I think they're playing Coachella myself, just seems like if they're doing shows in the states they'd do so in April/May, based on those dates.

Nothing to do with the dates, although that London date is very close to Coachella. I also wouldn't be surprised if they added more dates as it's likely they're gonna sell out the first announced dates quickly.
It has more to do with the recent shows in Palladium being sponsored by Live Nation (this doesn't necessarily mean they cannot work with another promoter of course), which makes me think that they might be more likely for Primavera than Coachella.
Apparently Illenium is out too for now according to the founder of Ubbi Dubbi
Who knows if its true or not, could mean Kaskade or Seven Lions
I don't know if we can interpret anything from that screenshot - it's really ambiguous as to whether he's saying Illenium is "out" from Coachella or from Ubbi Dubbi. In context it could be either one.

You are technically right when I look back at it.
But wouldn't Ubbi Dubbi (such an awful name) announce Illenium is out or have a replacement?

Only 2 and a half weeks I guess
oh I had no idea he was actually on the Ubbi Dubbi lineup already lol, I thought people were just speculating. Nvm then, you're totally right, that makes it sound like he's out for Coachella. I should have checked that haha
Redditor saying Dominic Fike turned down Coachella so he could release more music first
Thought that was weird since he’s already announced to play Hangout. I’d imagine that performance is a part of some type of tour (who plays a one-off show for Hangout? lol) so I find it weird that he basically said no to Coachella for like an extra couple weeks in the studio...? Only way this makes sense to me is if GV offered him some kind of juicy deal that made waiting for 2021 worth it. Problem is he doesn’t seem like a big enough act to warrant that kinda treatment.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

By make more music they probably meant make more before they play Coachella and ideally get a better spot on the poster.

that's exactly who GV makes those deals with, cause then they get 6-7 LA/SF/SD shows at the Fonda or Novo, then Shrine, + Fox Theatre, SOMA, Regency etc. that will sell out, Hangout, Firefly, Tropicalia, Flog Gnaw then Coachella. they have a stranglehold on the California market.
