Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I am a non-MS native also but I have been here for 20 years - culterally - we are lacking - music wise - as far as major concerts on a regular basis - we are lacking
but the great outdoors - it is beautiful here - nothing better the cruising down a river in a canoe on a nice sunny day in the middle of nowhere with no phone, no noise - just water, sun and nature (with a little corn)
Bogachitto(SP) anyone? Love going down there in the summer, got me ready for the heat at Bonnaroo last year, went every other weekend and would stay at a friends house.
It does suck having to go to Memphis or N.O. or whatnot for a decent concert however.
Bogue Chitto... Hell yeah... I currently live in Brookhaven and Bogue Chitto is about 15 mins away. Everybody always goes down and floats the Bogue Chitto river during the summer.

One of the coolest things about Mississippi to me is the fact that I'm a hop, skip, and a jump away from Louisiana, the Florida panhandle, and Alabama, which make up for almost non-existent music scene. Wait, I take that back.. Carrie Underwood & Keith Urban were playing tonight. haha.
The larger casinos bring some big acts, but you have to be 21 to go to most of the shows & stuff.. bummer for my underage friends and I.
And Meg you're right.. a lot of people around the country sterotype us Mississippians, and they fail to realize that althought there is a lot wrong with this state, there's a lot of cool things about it too!
I love living in the South and drinking my super sweet tea
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

^^ I might make the drive up there! I would love to! It all depends on what's going on with this job I'm trying to get on at!
During our spring break, my boyfriend and I are going to visit family in Vicksburg during our spring break, which is March 24-28, so maybe we can most definitely plan going out or doing something fun!

I am checking in from Jackson will be heading down to Nashville 2 days before Roo though this year then driving down early Thursday with 3 Roo virgins... We are doin VIP this year... Ya we took I-20 to to Birmingham then from there went to chattanooga and stayed the night on Wednesday then got up early to drive and get in line... Worked out well for us, we had about a 2 hour wait in line around 10 am and had a 15 minute walk to Centeroo... We took exit 112... Hope to see all of you guys there!
Yea, pretty much. Iv noticed north jackson getting a fair bit worse as of lately too. I expect Northpark to end up like Metro in the next 10 years.
OMG - please don't say that - we live 2 blocks from Northpark and I love my house (realistically - you are right tho and I know I will end up selling and moving across the highway to Dinsmor)
I live in Northeast Jackson off Old Canton... It is starting to get pretty bad around our area... We have 9 houses in our neighborhood for sell and they just wont sell because of the area... My girlfriend had stuff stolen out of her car just a few days ago while it was parked on our street in broad daylight... PLUS Frank Melton is my neighbor hehe... What are you guys thoughts on ole Frank?

man, I'm a little upset about our school districts in south Mississippi.
Because many of them failed to pay the entry fee for the State Spelling Bee, many students are not able to go on in the competition.
At the elementary and middle school near my house, an autistic child won by spelling 'lieutenant' (that's a confusing one) and will not be able to go on.. there was an article in the paper, and he really wanted to compete in the Scripps national spelling bee.

agreed! i was supposed to go, but got asked by the mother to come home and help do yardwork and preparing the house for sale. I decided the good boy card would be a good one to play since i'll be on spring break next week

Frank Melton is a national joke - I am really glad Ilive in Ridgeland and work in Flowood - the only time I have to spend in the citylimits of Jackson is on I-55. Now if I could just figure out how to get them to move the Zoo, LeFluer's Bluff and a few other places out of Jackson - I would be happy

He has a new batch living there just about every other month it seems! He is training them as his dealers and turning them back loose on the street. His own wife will not live with him, she lives in Texas! O man I done got started on my Frank rant!
Ya this weekend I took a trip up to Oxford... I have been workin pretty damn hard in school and needed a get away! Gin and Tonic is my new friend and drink of choice!

there actually is a pretty good music scene developing out here, but a lot of it is angsty teen rockers... but you can occasionally catch some good shows at a couple of venues!
