METZ put on such high energy, crazy noise rock sets. Y'all are in for a treat!
And yes, I would be surprised if Weyes Blood does not end up on the final bill for Daze. She's played the fest before, is still promoting her new album, and is available since she's only doing Wknd 1 of ACL.
I see Cornelius has some West Coast dates about a week before DD. Seems like he could be a good fit with some of the acts announced so far and he's always had a bit of a trippy vibe anyway.
Random thought: Sure would be cool if they book The Jesus Lizard. They're not touring but a gazer can dream ...

i'd be pretty stoked if Cornelius did more than just the WC
Lizard is playing that NY's show, they could probably make it work
I'm wondering if they have some trouble securing more names honestly. They announced only 31 names so far, and last year's lineup had around three times that number. It's just so odd.
Late to the Khruangbin news but I'm really excited about that!
We haven't gotten artist news in about a week, really hoping they're announcing something big soon.
I think they know they squeezed as much as they could out of the daily thing as they could. I'm already in, just trying to debate VIP or ga since there's only the high level of VIP left. When my friends visits from out east this month we're gonna nail down the specifics

My confusion is growing and my patience is shrinking. Are ticket sales going so well that they don't feel the need to announce acts with actual draw? This is a destination festival that's only 3 months away, people need time to plan their trip.

If tickets are selling so fast they should just release the darn thing. I know I won't make it but this fest intrigues me. Wish there was an East coast version.

East coast cities really don't do psyche rock. There's pockets, like DC, but if you see who attends DD, it's like Coachella lite
They will also have less acts than last year though.
Where have you heard them say this? I don't recall reading this anywhere, that there would be less acts than last year.
Also, yes - It is not uncommon for Daze/Moon Block to take there time in rolling out the bulk (or full) lineup ever since they went to the 3-day format in 2016. I imagine by month's end there will be another dozen acts announced, including a new headliner. And then by late August, ~99% of the lineup will be finalized with the daily lineups released and single day tix being available.
If the situation is more or less unchanged by month's end, then I would be concerned. Patience is very key, especially with Daze.

On the Instagram post with the first 20 acts, they said it was a third of the lineup.
Well last year they had about 67-68 bands, so I bet they will end up with around the same amount more or less (65 to 70 bands)...Of which 20 is roughly 1/3 of the lineup.
