Solange probably had to cancel so they pulled the Wu
Solange speaks even less psych than Wu Tang and they're already so out of place. If they just added like 3 or so rap artists to fill that extra space they created byt letting them headline.

I guess it's just me, but I think her music is pretty psychedelic, and if I were tripping I'd MUCH rather listen to her than Wu.

I love Solange but thinking about the outcry that booking her would have caused for all the rock bros that follow this fest makes me glad she's not playing. I don't think I could handle 37 different "Beyonce's sister??? RIP Desert Daze" comments.

It's a shame because the show she was doing for A Seat at the Table would've been so fucking cool to see at a psych festival

Interpol would be a meh booking personally and I like their music and their live show. Either way you slice it, Wu and Interpol both feel like uninspired choices. Interpol dropping and Devo replacing them is the better option to me.
Also just gonna say that Antics songs live are better than TOTBL songs live.
Devo by a mile, and I like Interpol. I've just seen Interpol numerous times and they're not super interesting live. I expect Devo to be a much more captivating show, not to mention way more rare/special and probably the last chance ever to see them (at least for a casual fan like me).
It could very well just be an off-year for what bands/talent are available for the timeframe of Daze to headline. Something to consider, also as it seems fairly unanimous that the undercard is really strong for this year's edition.
When you stack this against Levitation, the most like-minded and style of festival from Daze, I suppose they may have tried to get somebody like Angel Olsen? They may have purposefully not gone the route of Kurt Vile since he recently headline with Courtney at Daze, and the rest of the top-billed acts at Levitation would be sub-headliners at Daze, have recently played the fest, or are already booked for Daze (Flaming Lips).

Solange had a goldenvoice contract to fulfill with Flog Gnaw it seems.
im hoping for single day tickets and to combine this with secret project in central la the same weekend. i would rather not rent a car and la sprawl is intimidating. any advice?
It was a diagram explaining what camping/parking passes you needed depending on how you planned to arrive and where you wanted to stay. They mostly got roasted in the comments for making their system overly complicated and expensive.
Haha it's really not THAT complicated. Also they have a monopoly on the psyche field right now. I did a couple of mountain drives listening to the Spotify playlist and I feel like the money was will worth it. Gonna be A party
Man I wasn't planning on considering this at all this year but "Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA" came on the other morning and now I kinda do wanna see Devo once. lol
