I thought we would get more names since tickets seem to be going on sale this week, but I'm happy. Kamasi Washington would be a nice addition.
I think most people that go to this are fairly confident that the lineup is going to be good. Especially after those first 4. It's not like they're going to book Taylor Swift

Did camping sell out last year? If so, how quickly? I already purchased my passes but I still need camping and I'm wondering if I need to plan on getting them when passes go on sale tomorrow or if I can wait until Friday.

True. It just seemed like good timing for a phase 1 lineup, but I don't think that's coming, and I wonder why.

I think I got my pass in August or September last year
I think the Car Camping add-on sold out quickly last year, but not sure about regular camping. I remember seeing weekend passes on secondary market for way below face value a week before the fest. I'm torn because I want to do car camping again but it was basically $500 for early bird GA camping bundle + car camping add-on... oof
Edit: Just noticed they have prices with fees already up. Grand total for weekend GA camping + car camping add-on is $562. Fuck

Thanks guys. I should probably just get it right away so I don't worry about it. Especially if the car camping add-ons went quick since I want to use my camper van.

I'm starting to realize that! Does that also mean each person needs a camping pass? (Edit, it does)
Plus Thursday early arrival pass. I guess I'm not camping. I'll just stay home and drive the 30 minutes. Bummer since I heard so many great things about camping at this festival.

Yeah, each person needs a camping pass. I wouldn't say there's anything that great about the camping at this festival unless you're really into the programming the put on at the mystic bazaar. Not saying it's bad, it's just fine IMO.
I loved the camping experience, but yea there's nothing too unique or special about it other than the campgrounds being nice and a super quick walk to the entrance. I had a really great time camping tho.
Everyone in campgrounds is supposed to have a camping pass, but this is basically unenforceable after the initial check-in. Anyone can walk anywhere. There were people near us who just walked their camping gear in from their weekend parking spot and set up camp without having camping passes. Obviously YMMV and maybe they try to enforce this year, but I don't know how they would be able to do it, campgrounds are wide open in every direction.

Spend the money. You don't want to take the chance of sitting in line to get in every day

I'd definitely prefer to camp especially after all the stories from Friday of last year. I purchased a camper van specifically for festivals like this so I'm disappointed that it costs so much. I'm hoping the last minute secondary market works out.
At least Thursday is included now so it's only about $400 (lol, only) instead of closer to $500.

I bought a Eurovan westy a month before the festival last year specifically to use it for desert daze. Long story short, it broke down the week after I bought it and it's been in the shop ever since

I've always wanted a westfalia but they've always been a bit too run down or really nice but really expensive. I'd love to get one of the California editions if they're ever sold in the states but for now I have a used first generation Jucy that I picked up for $5k. I've upgraded what I can without messing around with the insert that much, but I did add a pretty extensive solar array (goal zero based) that gives me power to run all my electrical including all my kitchen appliances (microwave, toaster, blender, etc) and fans/misters, and fun things like a projector and other gadgets.
Hopefully you can get it up and running in time for this year! Any pics?
Here's mine. I still haven't painted it but it's been great the last 3 Coachellas and Cal Jam. It'll probably make it to DD after all since the BF is gong to splurge for the car pass.

After talking it over with the boyfriend we decided to splurge and just camp anyways. It's sort of his birthday weekend and these types of events are why we purchased a camper in the first place, thanks again for the advice, everyone!
Jesus Christ why is adding a photo here so god damn hard
Very cool!
Is that what to expect with camping? Looks like lots of room!
Yeah there's a ton. The section I was on was kinda hilly. Also there was supposedly supposed to be a car in front of so share the area but that never happened.
