Gambino - Tame Impala - Post Malone Excision - Kaskade - Loco Dice
Post was 2017.
Also Excision was 16. He also HL’d with Lana Friday at Buku ‘19. Despite Live Nation v Goldenvoice, Buku doesn’t preclude Voodoo - but usually it’s mid/undercard if there’s a crossover.
I just need Billie Eilish on that lineup dammit. Weekend 1 of ACL is officially sold out.
Unless tickets for ACL end up having some departure from the way they normally work, they can usually be had in the upper 200’s low 300’s most years which isn’t that much higher than presale considering a wristband is generally one of the cheaper aspects of going to Austin that weekend.

I know, but I don't want to have to go to ACL to see her. I mean that lineup is fire, but if voodoo has all the shit I want from it, I can just do voodoo.
I totally hear what you are saying. We should get a good 15 or so acts from ACL, and if was some of the big ones, maybe it’s a good time to save a thousand bucks or so. I usually buy weekend 1 , and if I don’t go, I’d sell it for face. Last couple years I went Friday/Saturday and watched Sunday on tv back home. Voodoo won’t get Guns n Roses though, and even though I was never a big fan, that’s kind of a must see concert for me.

I saw them in the 90s, well his fit and then got those free tickets 2 years ago? I'm good on GnR. I don't think we'll get them either. Cure is more likely.

Not gonna lie if voodoo gets the Raconteurs as a sub and then get the black keys and any mix of the cure, Gambino, or tame with some other undercard artist i like I’ll most likely try and sell my ACL tickets for being closer to voodoo i wanna go to ACL but if this happens i might just wait another year to get past wedding and honeymoon plans I’m saving for too.
Black Keys effing suck. I’ll never understand how they got beyond mid tier status.
Gnr is headlining literally every fest in the SE this fall. Other than Voodoo becoming milquetoast post-Rehage I don’t see how they wouldn’t get them as it looks like they are the industry thing for this region/season.
No Gnr, who were fn incredible on their reunion tour, while getting some soft bois rock would def be a kick in the nuts but it is what it is.
I want to see The Cure and Billie Eilish back to back on Sunday. If the rest of the lineup is whack I’ll just come that day.
The Cure is our number one priority for the fall and we plan on flying to Vegas and Chicago as well if shows get announced there.

This man knows what is up. Sorry about the jinx, Voodoo just ain't what it used to be and I don't think that live nation cares.

I have been every day from almost start to finish since the organizational switch to C3 in 2016. Operationally, it's WAY better than it ever was in the past. So I'm going to disagree that Live Nation doesn't care. They're bringing in 60-65,000 people a day. Outside of an occasional gate rush, it's easily one of the better run festivals and also one of the most convenient to navigate. At the same time, I hear what you're saying. I loved the old grounds and the extra stages and tents. I liked the NOLA stuff if there was nothing else going on that interested me. I liked them heavier on alternative rock even though that isn't going to work for them (exclusively) in 2019.
We'll see about the lineup in 5 days. I don't expect it to be a giant departure from their other marquis festivals though they'll have some unique shit. Then again, I love ACL and I can pick and choose with Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza.
In the meantime - AEG presale today 10-10 for Stones tickets is HARLEM
^^ Yikes. Never mind on the Stones. $1200 standing pit; > 4k for sitting pit; $150ish for nosebleeds and $99 for side nosebleeds.

I meant I don't think that they care about having a unique, diverse lineup or care about what the festival used to be. They care about money and ensuring that the festival continues to bring in money. If they don't need to spend whatever the fuck on GnR and can still get the same amount of people to show up, then that is what they are going to do.
I missed it last week, but apparently we got Brandi Carlile on the 25th (Friday). According to the Advocate, they released her tour poster and quickly recalled it. Seems like that's a given that she'll be at one of the 2 side stages at night between sub and HL (or possibly the sub-HL for Black Keys if they bring them in).

Gross. If we get her and not Billie, I am going to be very upset.

Gross? She's awesome. And why can't you have both?

I agree with Esteban on the 2016-18 years. Very well run. I've been to all of them except 2002 and they really have upped the experience. As for this history, I don't miss that old stuff but I can see that as something some folks miss - the days when Bingo show were hanging out in their own tent, Pres Hall had a stage..... I feel like I can see that any weekend around town so I'd rather see things that aren't at dba. I surely missed that on Brandi Carlile but that works for me. She is great (albeit very different from billie).

I f'd up and missed all those years with random bookings like Porcupine Tree and shit. I had kids and then there was Katrina which forced me to move 50 miles away for a few years. So I didn't get to really be able to go until 2010 (went Ozzy/Street Sweeper/Drake day). I've been every year and every day starting in 2011.
I also understand your point about having acts that you can see on any weekend here anyway. That was a point C3 made when they took over booking fully beginning in 2016. In my mind, as long as there are a couple local acts to break up the pace (E-collective, Soul Rebels, Rebirth, whatever), I don't need many more than that.
Some of the night shows that have been announced that weekend are below. I'm assuming none of them will be at the festival:
Friday - 10/25
Oh Sees + Prettiest Eyes @ One Eyed Jacks
Saturday 10/26
The Melvins + Redd Kross + Sh*tkid @ One Eyed Jacks
Lucero & Vandoliers @ Tipitina's
==============================================
Also, for names you can cross of the list 100% due to near-time concerts:
21 Pilots
Gryffin
Cher
Nile Rodgers & Chic
Incubus
Jonas Brothers
Kero Kero Bonito
AJR
Angel Olsen

Looks like $155+ for standing room "Field," like a GA area behind the seated floor seats.

Wow - “milquetoast“- who knew. Anyway, GnR are in.
