Foo fighters are a good choice to close out the final iteration of the Hangout festival
For real though, if they know this is the last fest in that shit-hole of a county run by retired assholes, I hope they just booked whatever the hell they wanted + Lil Nas X

Thinking about starting a social media account for festival scoops that just rips off information from here... what should my gimmick be? Owls and owning a bus are already taken

Silly me, I should have framed my basic logic and probability skills as an insider source so that I could force y'all to call me The Official 2020 Hangout Scoopmaster™ (Or maybe the Hanga Kanga?)
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide
The not comeback, but going back to those last two years we went - 14, 15 - there were some good shows I saw. In 14 I didn't go to the HL's except OutKast, but OutKast, Flaming Lips, Queens of the Stone Age, STS9, Pretty Lights, Portugal. The Man, Bloody Beetroots Live, Shorty & Orleans Ave., Moon Taxi, Reignwolf and Gemini Club were all good shows. In 2015 I missed Spoon, but Foo Fighters, Umphrey's, Dirty Heads, Galactic with Macy Grey, Gramatik, Griz, Beats Antique, Jr. Gong, PH & Frie3nds, MMJ, Beck, TV on the Radio, Talib Kweli, and Break Science Live w/ Friends were all great shows.

come on back Esteban you know you miss the good hangout days lol.
I’m thinking RHCP. They were my first hangout 12 so seem like enough time to come back. But also Foo Played 2011 and 2015 so this would also be enough time for them as well but still feeling RHCP are due back. From tour dates i saw looks like Billie will probably be here too. Still would love if they went back to 2 bands and pop/hip hop headliner.

It's looking like they'll be returning to this formula with what we know so far. The Top 6 I mentioned before fits (Post+MCR+Tame). I was iffy about throwing MCR in there, so swap them out for Foos or RHCP and you're still pretty likely likely to get the 2 bands+pop/hip hop combo you want.
But I've got no clue who's the more likely of Foos or RHCP. I don't really "know" those bands outside of their names+big hits so I'm at a loss as to who's a better fit for what this fest has become in 2020.

My money’s on the Foo’s and maybe J Cole? With Post’s tour wrapping up idk how likely it’ll be just to do a one-off show in Alabama. For last year's hangout, Travis was already on tour playing Rolling Loud & a Dallas show after the hangout. Cole also has an album coming out in 2020, has a festival set up, and has worked with GV before playing Day N Vegas. Also wouldn't mind if it was RHCP haven't seen them since 2017.

Yeah all those with either posty or Cole seem possible and better then last year imo whether it’s foos or peppers it’s an upgrade. I’ll be happy with either or personally even tho I’ve seen both twice. RHCP/ J. Cole/ Tame Impala would enjoy a lot personally

I know Post's current tour is wrapping up but I'd imagine he's gonna tour Hollywood's Bleeding at least a little bit in 2020. Looking at his recent dates, it's been exclusively arena shows and only two US fests: Roo and Life is Beautiful. He may not play Hangout but I'd be real surprised if he doesn't show up on at least some festival lineups next year.
That being said, I totally agree that J.Cole is probably top of mind for many fests as he's crossing into headliner status.

The frisée was extra crunchy. Lmfao. Anyway, I would vote to let him back in on a low appetite for trolling trial. There are way worse perpetrators around. Or just condemn him to the Hangout sub.
Bored at work so I decided to whip up a quick mock. I'm assuming that most of my undercard is way off, literally just pulled names from other 2019 GV fests and 2020 fests with lineups already announced that historically share an act or two. Should be fun to see how wrong I was with this. Hopefully the lineup is out tomorrow
