Who the hell is Flume and how are they headlining over Vampire Weekend and Stevie?
Some good stuff on here (Tame, Missy, Stevie, Charly Bliss, Carly Rae, PTM), but a whole lot of crap too. Maybe I'll do a day pass, maybe I'll head to Boston Calling.
I don’t like Flume at all but he’s definitely bigger than Stevie to the Gov Ball audience. Probably bigger than VW too
Overall I like this lineup although it's still one act away from me being hell yeah on a 3 day vs. the I don't know what I want to do that I'm feeling right now. And now I am also conflicted about Boston Calling 'cos I really want to see Rage but Boston is a PITA.
11/28 Raveonettes (Copenhagen, Denmark) 12/4 Interpol 12/14 LCD Soundsystem 12/31 Billy Joel 1/25 The Killers (Las Vegas) 2/12 Jack White 2/25 Father John Misty 3/6 Inhaler 4/10 Franz Ferdinand 4/17 Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 5/15 Amyl & the Sniffers 5/18 Fontaines D.C. 9/1 Oasis
Not that it means this is not good (although they booked better lineups in the past), but once again, it just proves how Coachella lineup is the best of this year.

Eh, it's all subjective. Beyond Rage, Run the Jewels, and Thom Yorke, the Coachella lineup falls flat, for me. Meanwhile, I'm in love with the GovBall lineup. So, you know...to each their own.

Comparing a 150+ names fest or a 67 one is kinda pointless imo. There's a certain depth in this line up which I can appreciate a little bit more in comparison to previous years and the toplines are all great gets, nothing special but overall great.

Honestly, this lineup is just what I'm looking for this year—a combination of artists whose tours I missed last year and artists who I like but not enough to pay for their individual concerts. I'd rather that than a lineup with a bunch of artists I'm dying to see since there's a 50% chance it would get rained out and I'd be SOL. Still, I'll wait until it's closer to the fest when the weather report's more reliable.
I think it's pretty alright. Nothing overly making me have to go but would consider maybe a one day pass for some fun. I think this maybe solidifies a Rage show in NY or Philly though so I'm happy about that. Frank at MSG feels pretty confident as well
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
So I suppose that Flume and VW will headline Saturday doing the Phoenix v Gambino set up, which means that Stevie/Solange/Miley would sub that day. That would probably be a day worth going to

Ideal single day lineup would be:
Poolside YBN Cordae Cuco Girl Talk Danny Brown Khruangbin Portugal the Man HER Ellie Goulding Solange Vampire Weekend (or Tame Impala if their new album turns out to be better than the singles would suggest)

This is what is keeping me the happiest. This lineup is really enjoyable. And now I can look forward to probably getting a Rage stadium show (or they might do Jones Beach), a Frank MSG show, and an MCR MSG show or Atlantic City Beach show.
Will add a couple dollar signs to the summer concert fund but in NY you don't have to worry about missing any of these.
Another big take-away: I think the crowd this year is going to be DRASTICALLY different.
Exactly what Govball was trying to accomplish. Which makes me believe they aren't fretting too bad about the young snobs getting upset on their various social media pages

I doubt we’ll get it again but would love for Founders to do another AMA now like they did last year. Cleared up a lot of scheduling questions and always feels super insightful.

I’ll bet money that they go back to the younger demo next year, after the ticket sales for this year are poor
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

Not to do another shameless plug, but we're in talks with Tom Russell from Founders about doing a post-lineup interview for the We're Doing Great podcast. Still hammering out logistics, so it's not for sure, but if y'all have any questions you want tossed in the mix, drop them in my DMs, and I'll see what I can get in there.

Vomiting teens/college kids aren't the ones buying lots of alcohol and buying the VIP packages so...yeah, makes sense.
