Sorry to hear that. It's an epidemic across all fests this year.
I always have my shit jammed in my pockets so I'm a more difficult target but, man, feels like pickpocketting has gotten insane at these big festivals.

Sure, my cargo shorts may be unfashionable, but the sheer number of pockets keeps potential pickers of said pockets confused as to where my valuables might actually be. Oops, sorry, that's just left-over kibble from my last dog walk SUCKA.

Honestly the dance acts were some of my favorites this weekend. RUFUS, Brothers Macklovitch, Duck Sauce, and Jamie xx were definite highlights. Also thought Carly Rae Jepsen did amazing yesterday, Phoebe was fantastic on Saturday and really enjoyed myself during Portugal The Man on Friday. Overall happy that they moved off the island because getting home was just way easier than having to walk across the bridge, only thing was it was just a bit crammed throughout the day. Frustrating how long food lines were too, to the point where you couldn't tell where lines began and crowds ended

Quick (ish) Review!
Friday • RMR – 6/10. A fun first set. Random and cool he wore an Isles jersey and that he did a 3AM cover. Good energy. • Leon Bridges – 7/10. Great energy, sounded really good. Surprisingly crowded. • Future Islands & Portugal the Man – 7/10. Steady and solid. • Rufus – 7/5/10. Great energy, cool stage set-up. • Billie – 2/10. Far back x Sound x mumbles just made it unlistenable and not a inspiring show.
Saturday • ARIZONA – 6/10. Fun cheesy EDM to start a day. • Bleachers – 9/10. I'm a sucker for them always but i love the new album and it sounded great live. • Megan thee Stallion – 7/10. Not usually my thing but she was fantastic just a party. • Phoebe - 8.5/10. Great show was really impressed - thought the energy might be tough to maintain but not at all. Only drawback is that the delay made the last song or two have to be played through J Balvin but NBD.
Sunday • Dominik Fike – 4/10. Uhh so I don't really know why he was such a d*ck. Like maybe that's his thing? On top of yelling at his tech crew for an hour and saying he hates his most popular song, going on a 2 minute rant about the security guard who made him put a wristband on and that he should know who you are? No dude the worker who is just trying to do their job and make some money and is what makes it possible for this festival to go on does not know who TF you are, neither do most people. Get over yourself. Anyways he was fine musically. • Carly Rae Jepsen – 7/10. Had amazing energy and a lot of fun, wish i were closer and had more energy for it Day 3 and this score could be higher. I agree with the comment I read that her mic/video was delayed but she fought through it like a pro. • Jaime xx – 8.5/10. Just the best. Only reason is it's not higher is I am someone who likes when they play the hits so hearing one or more of Loud Places / Good Times / On Hold Remix / SeeSaw would have been great but I get he wants to keep it fresh. So so good. • Post Malone – 7.5/10. Believe me this is a great score for someone who comes out at 9:07 for a 10PM curfew. I thought he was a great performer. Lots of fun.
Final Thoughts
• All-in-all a really fun weekend. I found that the age/youth bothered me a lot more when i was 25-27 going to this. At 29, i KNOW i'm the old guy here and it's totally fine. Just here for the music and good times with friends and let the kids have fun. I didn't experience anything negative outside of your standard pushing forward and chain of people which is just going to happen at this.
• I think the festival did a great job Sunday with the counter-programming and they'll get back to it. Got to cut them some slack with the pandemic, you look at the original 2020 lineup and see they still want that balance.
• Gov Ball should always be at Randall's (or Corona if they get it) in early June. It belongs on grass during that earlier part of the year where people are fired up for summer, it's just part of the DNA. That being said, I love the Citi Field parking lot for it's accessibility and ease of seeing shows.
• There should always be a fall festival here by Founders. Whether it's a scaled back Meadows like the original 2-day fest or something more ambitious, it's nice to be outside at a fest this time of year.
