I wonder if EarthGang being on the bill might mean we're looking at a J. Cole headlining slot, as they're on his label, and all. He'd make sense as a hip-hop headliner and hasn't played GovBall since 2014.
That's a little surprising, wonder if Bowery Presents got her for an arena show at MSG or Barclays. I certainly hope Founders continue with at least one woman headlining - there are no lack of options imo
My guess would be 2 nights as MSG. The Jones Beach show sold well and shows there hardly EVER sell well without papering.

Cole filled in for The Weeknd at Meadows 2016. Only gotten bigger since and has a new album coming 2020, I can see it
Rage - Tame - VW seems really rock heavy to me for 2020
Yeah, this would be amazing for my tastes, which definitely means it's not what we're going to end up with, given how far outside the target demo I am.
Foals actually did play the fest a couple years back...i was thinking maybe Jimmy Eat World
Yeah, just checked and they played in 2013, which I think constitutes them being overdue for a return. Jimmy Eat World would be great though. If they booked the Gaslight Anthem last year there's no reason why they wouldn't book Jimmy Eat World either.

Foals is awesome though and id gladly see them again! Their show at Brooklyn Steel was awesome in the fall
Supposedly there's still one headliner left to be booked for this
My guess is they are trying to book Rage. It sounds like their reunion came together pretty quickly, given that PoR was supposed to headline some festivals next year. Maybe Founders doesn’t feel comfortable with VW being able to sell the necessary amount of tickets without loading up the undercard under them, so they are hoping they can be the #4.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

Rage at govball is a dream sceanario for me but i just cant see it
GovBall got Tool in 2017; they'll definitely book something out of their usual demographic if they think it will sell well.
And yes, I know that the Tool day did not sell out that year, but RATM is an entirely different animal.
Perhaps, but Founders also did say in an AMA that the low turnout for Tool led them to have second-thoughts about booking left-field acts like that in the future.

I don't know if they'd go full indie - feels like way too much of an "overcorrection" after all the hip-hop in 2019 - but I can see Founders focusing a day around the genre. It does kinda feel like bands are making their (for lack of a better word) comeback on fest posters
