Big Freedia is touring with Too Many Zooz and has an east coast run with no NYC show and open dates 9/26 and 9/27 between Boston and Philly. Nothing huge but Freedia is a fun lower undercard act.

Machine Gun Kelly is also out, which is surprising. I would have thought he'd be a perfect Gov Ball grab though maybe with the age restriction he doesn't fit the demo as well.

I find it odd there's been no announcement or hints of an announcement which leads me to believe that they are still iffy on this actually being able to go down. I know DeBlasio has said the city will be fully open as of 7/1 but news of all these variants and the depressing article about us likely not reaching herd immunity from this morning is casting doubts on large NYC events. Again, hope I'm wrong.

FWIW, the news about the variants is actually not bad. All the known variants of concern are neutralized by vaccinated sera:

It’ll be interesting to see what this lineup looks like. Based on dates, Tame seems like a lock. However, it looks like Flume and Missy might not be touring this year. Could we see Billie, Foos, Megan, Strokes, or maybe even LCD as the other headliners?

For the love of all that's holy, I wish this festival could move on from The Strokes. I feel like everyone's right, but...blah. I've tried so hard. I even went to the NYE show this past December. I just can't make that band work for me.
Anyway. My biggest question is whether this will be 18-and-over, still. Please, festival gods, make that happen.

I've only seen that the European dates were postponed to next summer

Would be cool if they geared this lineup more to the 21+ crowd, maybe charged slightly more $ so we don't have to deal with insufferable shitheads. I get that not every young person acts like an idiot but, even with this fest being 18+, feel like after this lockdown it could just be a haven for college kids who want to travel here for the weekend to have an extended party.
