Blech. Kinda bummed about missing Future Islands and a couple of others, but not enough to endure this, but I have Sea.Hear.Now the weekend before, that is good for me.
tell me you're a Gen Xer without telling me you're a Gen Xer
- Is this actually at Citi Field inside or in the parking lot? I'm assuming the parking lot (similar to Meadows festival) - Big Thief, Leon Bridges and Jamie XX are true WTF bookings, though I guess Jamie XX would make a little more sense. Big Thief/Leon Bridges crowd will be sparse - Wish they would tilt the days a little heavier in one direction so the vomit teens could have one day the rest of us could avoid but I guess that wouldn't help drive 3 day sales - Wonder what the rationale was for removing the age restriction? I'm assuming the fear that it wouldn't sell out but, still, yikes.
its probably going to be Rufus vs Billie, ASAP vs J Balvin, and Ellie v Post. Maybe they have Post or Billie unopposed
I don’t know a lot about how they schedule this but seems like a waste to put anyone of any substance up against Billie
could say the same about Post tbh. The Meadows' only unopposed headliner was Jay-Z, and they will probably use the same layout as that festival. They had Kygo go against Kanye, I think they will likely have Rufus vs Billie
This should sell well and I could see myself making a day or two out of it, but it’s not really for me. It’s not awful, just not to my personal tastes.

I’m curious to hear why Tame didn’t end up on here. I thought they were a given. Maybe they committed to Firefly or have something else in the works in the city?

Orville Peck is the first notable radius clause exception. He is playing MSG with Harry Styles a month later after this. But thats been sold out for a while.
There won't be sound bleed for the main it looks like, but the small stages will definitely have something even worse, sound reflecting off the back of the stadium

I'm an old, we like some of this modern music too though ... Friday is actually not bad except that is a work day and now that it's at Citi Field it's a bigger trek from the office (I could walk to Randall's Island from my office), so I will still pass.
11/28 Raveonettes (Copenhagen, Denmark) 12/4 Interpol 12/14 LCD Soundsystem 12/31 Billy Joel 1/25 The Killers (Las Vegas) 2/12 Jack White 2/25 Father John Misty 3/6 Inhaler 4/10 Franz Ferdinand 4/17 Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 5/15 Amyl & the Sniffers 5/18 Fontaines D.C. 9/1 Oasis
The layout looks exactly like how they did the Meadows festival so I believe the no sound bleed claim. I don't seem to recall that being an issue then.
Headliners do absolutely nothing for me. I might do Friday because im live show starved but very underwhelming. I just pray sea hear now actually happens. I also just was so excited for the 2020 Friday lineup. A day of kota, snail mail, khruangbin, foals, miley cyrus, stevie nicks and tame. Always gonna regret that day never came to fruition.
