Yeah, Big Thief and Phoebe playing so close together sucks, as you now cannot get good spots for both of them.
Oh, you most certainly will be able to. Phoebe's going to draw better than most other guitar-driven acts there, but dollars to donuts you're still going to lose a ton of the audience to Amine.
Friday was the only day I wanted to go. But now, the conflicts. Freddie Gibbs vs Orville Peck and Leon Bridges vs Earthgang is killing me!!! Why can’t I have nice things?
looks like I might be able to nail down the ultimate older guy run of Faye Webster -> Caroline Polachek -> Carly Rae -> Jamie XX -> Penn Station to catch a 10pm train back to DC

Schedule worked out perfectly. And my Saturday night 7:30PM post-Phoebe no-crowd Uber back to Brooklyn with a whole night ahead of me will be absolutely delightful.
The earlier curfew gives us slightly shorter sets as most acts usually get an hour. Nonetheless, for the older crowd that Sat schedule is amazing since you can peace out at 7:30 though I have a feeling you'll still be dealing with a large crowd at the time.
incredible schedule tbh. only two major conflicts for me are big theif vs megan and jamie vs thug. glad i snagged a phoebe ticket for boston since that solves the conflict she has with amine
For those with VIP tickets for Friday, I'd make a point to get in that section BEFORE Billie Eilish goes on. With no one playing at the same time as her we'll likely end up with the same situation that happened with Kanye in 2016 where you could NOT enter the VIP area even with the pass due to overcrowding.

id be pretty surprised if the VIP section is that crowded at any point next weekend

The map is live. It's basically The Meadows 2017, which isn't bad, although LOL at the whole "we're going to turf the parking lot!" thing. It looks like the vast majority of the standing area at each stage is all concrete.

eh, cant be much worse than the original boston calling location. Love this stage layout though. gonna make it easy to see everyone i wanna see

Original Boston Calling location wasn't all that bad, the brutalist concrete added character.

So Billie's set at Life is Beautiful was a full 90 minutes, yet Gov Ball is only giving her a 75 minute set. That on top of zero alternative programming from 7:30 on each day is very off-putting.
With all the Covid hurdles, I give Founders a pass this year, but I hope some of the lineup shortcuts aren't also a precursor to the at-festival experience this weekend.

I think the crowd is going to be ok. I dont think there will be too many high schoolers there on a school friday. Feel free to come back to make fun of this post in two days
Well as of right now, there's a 90% chance of rain for Friday, so that blows
Yeah, but the hourly forecast paints a brighter picture - rain chances start tapering off around 10 AM, hit 35% by noon, and drop below 20% by 4 PM, staying low for the rest of the afternoon, evening, and night. Basically, as of right now, if you're planning to get there for the early sets, just bring a poncho, some baggies for your electronics, and shoes you don't mind getting wet, and you're fine. I know nobody's psyched about the parking lot location, but in this case, it's going to be a boon, since there won't be mud to deal with.

I feel like it'll start that way, but get progressively worse throughout the day - I mean, if you don't think the Kehlani and Billie Eilish sets are going to be high school central, I have a bridge to sell you.
I'm looking forward to strolling almost completely unobstructed up to the rail for Orville Peck and Future Islands, though.

Just got a day pass for tomorrow on Stubhub for $45. I'm fully expecting the festival to be over run by teens by 5pm. Really hoping that the Future Islands and Rufus sets will be relatively teen-free. Have to think most of them will camp for a good spot for Billie right?

Good thinking. It wouldn't be Governor's Ball without a little rain anyways!
Getting pumped for this--really excited for Leon Bridges, Rufus, and Billie on Friday, Phoebe, King Princess and Big Thief on Saturday, and Faye Webster, Caroline Polachek and Jamie xx on Sunday.
