I probably shouldn't be saying this publicly, but I found out that the schedule will be dropping sometime within the next three weeks... you didn't hear that from me, though!
All the Coronavirus talk added with the lack of schedule has me getting scared.
I know the reality though. If it happens it happens. I'll deal with that then.
I received a voicemail from Delta earlier today telling me that they overbooked my flight and were willing to "waive fees" to book me on an earlier flight, if I wished... As if leaving my hotel at 7am wasn't early enough. Anyway, that's the only travel disruption that I've been aware of...
I hope this doesn't get cancelled. There are rumors that my conference that will be held in Philly right before this will be cancelled as well, so if this also gets cancelled, I'll be devastated.

My big fear was that Ultra is the weekend before and there hasn't been anything said.
Mrs. GL has a mandatory crisis meeting morning at 9 am that just got called late last night. She doesn't know if it's national information or just local that she needs to be aware of. I'll find out this afternoon.
"At this point, the festival is still over 3 weeks away and we are proceeding with our planning on the assumption that the festival will take place as scheduled," he (Capps) said. "Obviously, future developments could impact things in unforeseen ways. We are hoping for the best."

I knew the conflicts would be brutal this year, but it's particularly frustrating to have most of my favorites overlapping in clusters, and then several hours open where there is little I'm interested in. Bah. The Tindersticks -> Mum overlap is particularly unforgivable (especially since I expect Mum to hit capacity, which means I'll need to arrive early).

Alright. I've thrown my temper-tantrum, now it's time to put a schedule together. Here's my first pass:
THU: Là-bas (Chantal Akerman) -> Rinland Short Films (Sarah Jessica Rinland) -> Gunn-Truscinski Duo -> Nathalie Joachim & Spektral Quartet -> Damo Suzuki vs. Ceramic Dog -> MSSV -> Dream Chambers
FRI: Astrid Sonne -> Fennesz -> Peter Brötzmann & Andrew Cyrille -> Moonlight Benjamin -> Sons of Chipotle (John Paul Jones & Anssi Karttunen) -> Gyða Valtýsdóttir -> Kim Gordon’s Sound for Andy Warhol’s Kiss (Gordon, Nance, Gunn, Trucinski)
SAT: Ensemble Dal Niente (Recitations / Richman Solo) -> Ensemble Dal Niente (Sarah Nemstrov) -> Harriet Tubman -> Kim Myhr: You | Me -> Josephine Foster & Gyða Valtýsdóttir -> Chris Abrahams -> Terry & Gyan Riley -> Annette Peacock -> Tindersticks -> Múm -> Wombo
SUN: Sam Gendel Concert Group -> The Necks -> Joshua Abrams & Natural Information Society -> Anthony Braxton's Thunder Music Ensemble -> Phill Niblock -> A Winged Victory for the Sullen -> Thundercat
THU: Gunn-Truscinski Duo --> Patti Smith: Words & Music --> 75 Dollar Bill --> Sarah Davachi --> Dream Chambers
FRI: Astrid Sonne* --> Jeff Parker --> Fennesz --> Brötzmann + Cyrille --> Nadah El Shazly OR Sarah Davachi OR Nguyen/Vandermark/Abrams Trio --> Caroline Shaw* --> Patti Smith & Her Band OR The Necks --> Sounds for Andy Warhol's KISS --> Mdou Moctar*
SAT: Bang on a Can All-Stars OR Kronos Quartet --> Kim Myhr: You | Me --> Anthony Braxton's Diamond Curtain Wall Trio* --> Jaimie Branch's Fly or Die --> Ben LaMar Gay Quartet --> Blacks' Myths --> Annette Peacock --> Shabaka & The Ancestors OR Tindersticks --> Xylouris White OR Dan Weiss Starebaby
SUN: The Gleaners & I screening --> Sam Gendel Concert Group --> The Necks OR Joshua Abrams & Natural Info Society OR Nivhek??? --> Anthony Braxton's Thunder Music Ensemble* --> Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah --> Brötzmann + White --> A Winged Victory for the Sullen
Notes: Asterisks mark possibilities; the rest is pretty certain. Saturday night is usually the best part of the weekend, but I'm not super excited about anything after Annette Peacock. Feel free to advise me on some of those conflicts or point me towards anything I should be seeing that's not on here.

Some other random thoughts:
* I think the 15 min (with a 45 min break in-between) concerts at KMA on Sunday sound interesting, but why hold that at a venue that is so far away from the other clusters? I'm not really feeling the prospect of heading out to the KMA, and then sitting around for 45 mins... if I could walk a few mins to another venue and catch a 30 min performance, and then head back... sure... I don't know. Clearly this arrangement makes sense to someone, but it ain't me.
* Really happy that they decided to start showing films earlier in the day when there isn't any (or at least much) music. Unfortunately, the films I wanted to catch aren't being shown at that time... but still this is an organizational improvement! * What's the difference between SWERVE: MSSV and the MSSV performance? Looks like the SWERVE: MSSV listing was removed...
* Kinda surprised they've decided to overlap Patti Smith & John Paul Jones (Sons of Chipotle). I imagine that there's a fair number of ticket holders who decided to attend specifically for those two (as they are, arguably, the most recognizable names on the bill).
* Another brutal overlap: Pioro vs. Suzuki + Ceramic Dog vs. MSSV

There's some shenanigans happening with the schedule... a few things have already moved around, and I'm pretty sure I saw some errors OR secret show listings in the artist pages...

Yup, it already changed between 6 AM when I first looked at it and 8 AM. So classic.
Do you remember which artist pages had the secret show listing?
And they're offering refunds like professionals. Makes my heart feel good that they have had people inquire about just transferring the ticket price to a donation.
