I’ve seen it before but I forgot what Newport thread it was on. It was like an appearance on Tiny Desk, plus an appearance on one of two other radio stations equals an almost certain Newport booking.
Chance of The Black Crowes playing Newport Folk on their Shake Your Money Maker reunion tour? They last played in 2008 when Jay booked his first Newport lineup (and he brought back Stephen Marley and Trey Anastasio from that first lineup last year). The dates announced so far are in the area and in mid-July. Although, that would require playing New York almost a week and a half earlier and sticking around in that time.

Pretty sure that was the FB group.
You’re right — just blanking on the stations name. Trying to do my homework ahead of bingo

Could happen. They could do like Montreal, Toronto, DC, Philly then swing back for New England.
Also can see them playing the Pavilion or Mansfield right around the NY shows.
Black Crowes seem like a lock. Mansfield Wed Saratoga sat Toronto tues
You have the wrong weekend. NFF is a weekend later this year: July 31 - Aug 2.
That said, they have a weird route where they come back east after Detroit and play Buffalo on Fri 31, Pittsburgh on Sat 1, and have Sun 2 free.
But I’m just as hesitant to say they’re a lock with that Boston date. Bigger bands don’t usually play both Boston and Newport in such a short timeframe.

Yeah and if what Gorman is saying is accurate, then Newport won’t fit the plan.
“They're not about to say, 'We wanna give up money.' I mean, that's what this tour is about. When you're booking a tour before you have a band, you're not booking a tour for musical connectedness and satisfaction.”

Wait? They’re admitting to what everyone is thinking? That this is a cash grab reunion? Hah

I don’t think that Gorman has been asked to play the tour...

Did anyone else visit The Song Confessional at the Fort this year?
I got my email this morning that my story was selected and the song it inspired is being sent my way!
Aaron also mentioned that they have a lot of material from NFF, and that they are looking to include it in potentially several of the podcast episodes.

Really hope we get a Delta spirit > middle brother > deer tick run or something along those lines for main stage. Haven't kept up so not sure if DT are out or anything. I fully expect Delta spirit to be on the lineup though
Damn, that Shaky Knees lineup might be stealing me away from Newport this year.
Potential crossovers I’d hope for if I didn’t make the switch: Black Keys, Of Monsters and Men, Brittany Howard, Phoebe Bridgers, Drive-By Truckers, Front Bottoms, Snail Mail, Orville Peck, Delta Spirit, Cavetown, Durand Jones, Ruston Kelly.

2020 Newport tickets purchased! Definitely recommend everyone apply for the membership. No stress, plus great email updates about the non-profit side of the festival.

Last year there was a lot of crossover: Phosphorescent, Rayland Baxter, Jade Bird, Lucy Dacus, The Nude Party, Devon Gilfillian, and Illiterate Light.
Looks like James Taylor isn’t doing Tanglewood this year for 4th of July...can’t remember the last time that happened. Wonder if he gets a proper set this year...
** Edit **
Thought the article was written by Tanglewood, but wasn’t. So it’s possible that he will still be announced for Tanglewood.
“A popular artist to be revealed later will perform July 4 followed by fireworks. In the past, the date has usually been held for James Taylor.”
