"There’s a couple festivals still hanging on to the possibility of happening this summer, but otherwise we’re kicking everything to ’22. I know Newport is trying to make it happen. I could see a festival like that—it’s so small and contained. Maybe they could pull it off? And that one I’d like to do with Jimbo if that happens. But my rolling tours, my bus tours are all being postponed again and again and again."
Btw, his new album with Jimbo is good stuff.
Didn’t even know about this album. I’ll have to check it out.

!!! NFF contacting artists and giving them the impression they’re “trying to make it happen” seems pretty huge to me. Everyone’s good points about the importance of safety notwithstanding.
Also worth noting that Green River Festival in MA, has locked down a larger location for 2021 and including on site camping. Tickets go on sale next week. Looks like they are confident as well.
Not to throw cold water on the excitement, but pretty sure that's been up there since December or January(I seem to recall signing up then just in case I wasn't already on the list). Still holding out hope, but not counting on anything.

Jay said on a twitter thread last night “I think we will have a lot to celebrate” and that he feels “like a chrysalis ready to shred and shatter” and I’ve decided to read way too much into these tweets.

Looks like the new venue is New Haven is restarting concerts soon.
The venue is called the Westville Music Bowl. It will occupy the former tennis stadium next to the Yale Bowl.
Final renovations are being completed, with concerts to begin in the spring.
“Westville Music Bowl stands as the light at the end of the tunnel for large scale events to make their return,” the venue states in a release issued Monday morning.
The first two scheduled shows will be headlined by Gov’t Mule on the evenings of April 30 and May 1.

Edit: I should say start. I dont think they ever got as far as having first show there.
Can't wait to see Joy Oladokun. Apparently a video of Tracy Chapman inspired her to learn guitar when she was 10. Can definitely see the influence.
Rolling Stone: Joy Oladokun appeared from the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville, Tennessee, for a performance on The Late Show. Armed with only a guitar and a microphone, the singer gave an emotional, intimate rendition of her song “Sunday.”
“Bigger Man,” Joy Oladokun’s new collaboration with Maren Morris.
In 2020, during the Black Lives Matter movement Oladokun released "Who Do I Turn To?" a ballad co-written with Natalie Hemby.

Bud it’s 2021, as much as we are trying not to count 2020 as a year
