Announcements started on a Tuesday/Thursday schedule for the first few weeks last year, right? I was hoping we may see something today, but I guess not at this point.

Whoa, moved 24 spots in the queue. Its happening. Announcement this week since resale started? I'll take a Thursday birthday announcement to kick things off please and thank you. haha
Anyone have a strong Newport Folky Holiday playlist they can recommend on Spotify?
Liking Dr. Dog's holiday music as well as Drew Holcombe & The Neighbors 'A Neighborly Christmas'.
All you need is JD McPherson's SOCKS
Additionally: - Kacey Musgrave’s Christmas album (which features Leon Bridges) - Several She and Him Christmas albums - A Dualtone Christmas (Lone Bellow, Langhorne Slim, Delta Spirit, Wild Child, Amos Lee, etc) - A dozen or so Sufjan Stevens Christmas albums - the Oh Hellos have a Christmas album (probably my favorite to put on this time of year) - Hotel Cafe Presents Winter Songs (features Brandi) - Holidays Rule (feat Head and the Heart, Andrew Bird, The Shins, Sharon Van Etten, Black Prairie, Civil Wars, Calexico, Heartless Bastards, Fruit Bats, Punch Brothers) - My Morning Jacket Does Xmas Fiasco Style - This Warm December (Brushfire artists like G Love, Jack Johnson, and Bahamas)
This new video from Sheryl is really cool. It's the Geroge Harrison cover she did with Brandi at Newport. Sheryl, Brandi, Sting and Eric Clapton played it together on her recent Threads cover album. I think that's the version playing in this video to footage from Newport. To see George Harrison projected onto the walls at Newport with Sheryl is really cool.
Is it possible we might get Elton John this year? He's is in the US around that time. Elton and Brandi have become good friends and are chatting a lot on social media. He showed up to see her play Joni's Blue album in California. There was a great photo that night of Joni, Brandi, Elton and Bonnie Raitt backstage sitting together of a sofa. Brandi is helping bring artists to Newport and her influence is growing each year. Assuming it a long shot but possible. Tanya Tucker seems pretty likely.
I got my tickets from the membership but needed one for a buddy the morning of general sale. I got him one after 16 min. I was trying on a few devices. I only got him one when I quit the waiting room on one device and just kept reloading and retrying over and over on that device. I got all sorts of not available errors but kept reloading and retrying. Eventually I got one. For the record I was still in the waiting room on the other devices which confirms they're not being fair, it's not a queue and it's not a waiting room. I'm guessing it was the developers way of ensuring the site didn't crash. Give a certain percentage of suckers a waiting room message for a random number of minutes while they still serve an acceptable number of new users.
Kind of surprised they haven't announced artists yet. This time last year we'd a descent number of annnoucements. Maybe they want to to hold on for the new decade.
Upcoming Shows: August 7: Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid/The Linda Lindas August 30: Waxahatchee/Snail Mail/Tim Heidecker September 17: Pearl Jam/Glen Hansard September 24: Idles/English Teacher
goodness I know I’m supposed to be enjoying the holidays as time with family and friends but i was REALLY hoping jay and the gang were going to gift us with a little bit of NFF’20 lineup info in the last few days...

So happy to see Big Thief coming back!!! But that makes me extra worried about the third 3-day pass I needed (and didn't get--grrr). My son will not be pleased if he's left behind! We're about #1450 on Lyte, so I'm not optimistic.
So I think I am guilty of being subconsciously dismissive of Big Thief, but every time I listen to them I'm like "huh, these guys are great why don't I do this more often..."
It must be a mood thing, but right now UFOF is hitting just right.

I kind of had that feeling on them up until Not came out. I loved Capacity and UFOF and Adrienne's solo album but they weren't in my brain as one of my favorite bands. That song brought their whole picture into focus for me though and now I think they're one of the best and most fascinating bands to come out of the decade
I was sure it would be Brittany Howard opening with a little bang, but Big Thief is a solid first announcement. And, yes, took, me a while to warm up to them, too. All good...took me longer to warmup to Kermit. Was always a Zoo and grumpy old men guy.
And have only moved 18 spots since day one of Lyte. Not particularly worried, but lots of different numbers being bandied about. Looking for one pass for Saturday and Sunday.
