11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Might as well bring this over here too. I think what’s most notable here is that suggests a few American rappers who are getting booked in early September, like Megan, DaBaby, Young Thug, etc. not really sure it means much more than that, even if Jamie xx would make a killer Grove closer.
Limp Bizkit - Journey - Post Malone according to the Lolla boards
They seem to be super convinced Limp Bizkit is playing (And not on Thursday). They are playing Wacken Fest (Germany) and POLand Rock Festival (Poland). Both are the same weekend as Lollapalooza. They also have shows scheduled Monday and Tuesday overseas. Idk it just seems suppppper unlikely to me, I think the guy is just talking out of his ass saying he has sources. He was wrong about The Black Keys playing in 2019 as well.

Thank god, I was hoping to actually want to go to Lollapalooza this year
He's doubling down because I think he has legit info and I highly doubt the German festivals that Limp Bizkit were scheduled to play are happening with how slow the vaccine rollout has been there

Exactly -- much of Europe is in a very different position than the US right now in terms of vaccine rollout and COVID cases. Bands have been making different plans based on what's safe/permissible, and it would not surprise me if some of these EU dates straight up don't happen, move, or have artists drop because of concerns. Also, none of those dates are currently listed on their website for whatever that's worth.
Lolla would be the highest profile US booking Limp Bizkit has had in the States (outside of a niche/genre driven festival) in ages. They'd certainly make it a priority if the money is right and they have the flexibility to do so.

I kinda get booking Journey (even if it's not my personal cup of tea) but I feel like the Lolla target audience and people who be excited about Limp Bizkit in 2021 are just entirely different groups

I think it's going to be a super weird year for line-ups, especially ones like Lolla that never publicly announced/locked-in. Filling 4 days is going to require some creativity, leaning on acts who are ready to hit the road, have some built in following, and can commit early. And somehow Limp Bizkit into Post Malone doesn't feel that weird to me?
I also wonder if Lolla is going to be forced into 18+ this year because of vaccination concerns. That could also be skewing some of the choices to bring in older/drinking age audiences.

Yeah I mean we will see if his info is any good. He hammered Black Keys in 2019 and was a swing and a miss. Its not his first time hes been wrong so we'll see. Although I think Limp would be a fun act to see I just dont know if it happens.
He also said he thinks they are subbing for Journey which feels weird in its own.

He clarified that opening for Journey thing as an assumption, since he got confirmation that they are indeed playing and on the same day as LB and LB is not a headliner. Other folks pointed out that when the guitarist of Journey claimed they were headlining earlier this year, he said they were playing the same day/time as Post Malone.
So if you assume that those 3 things are true, it makes more sense for LB to sub for Post than Journey -- but it all depends on how C3 wants to move people around the park.
And yeah, the Lolla board migrated to a private server after it became clear that the official message board was shutting down. Goes by a different name for legal reasons, but a lot of the old faces/main stays are still there.

In 2019 he said The Black Keys were "in play", and they ended up touring for the first time in like 5 years shortly after Lolla. That's hardly a swing and a miss.

Yes he said that. But then someone asked if this was a wink wink. He said no it wasnt. Came back a few days later with another message saying "This is officially a wink wink". The messages are still there.

Reading another pro board felt like being in an episode of a kids tv show I saw growing up where they went to an alternate universe where everything was the same but evil

im definitely on board with a LB booking. Might be the most obscure and fun act theyve booked in a long time. Just everything surrounding this feels weird.
