The lead talent booker for Lolla's favorite band is Pearl Jam. If they can book them again, I have no doubt they will try. It's a matter of PJ wanting to do it knowing it'll be a shortened set and they'd have to opt out of Wrigley. I don't think Eddie would want to do it.
Every festival set I've seen PJ do has been 2 hours. ACL, Bonnaroo, Mad Cool. Is that a shortened set for them vs an arena show?
Yeah, they typically don't have an opening act and do three hours. That was my experience at MSG and Wrigley with them and I think last time I saw them at PPG Paints. The Wrigley shows are pretty cool, and I can definitely see why they keep doing them. Always assumed they would end up back as the number 1 at Lolla though too.
When does Lolla normally announce its lineup and does vip give you a good spot for the main stages?
The lineup should be announced March 18th. VIP is in an elevated section on the side of the field that supposedly gives you a better view. It's super expensive so I havent personally been able to take advantage of it but I've been told if you have the money, VIP is worth it.

Nice to know it’s my potential first time for this or back to LIB. My fiancé isn’t the best with fest and crowds so i try vip for her but only if it’s actually worth it so that’s good to know i appreciate the info.

Where did you get this very specific date from?
The pattern/schedule they've been following for the past 6 years.
2014: March 26th 2015: March 25th 2016: March 23rd 2017: March 22nd 2018: March 21st 2019: March 20th
One day earlier every year, two days in leap years?
Yep, tickets on Tuesday then lineup Wednesday morning. It's always possible they reset the schedule to go back to the end of March but that's why I said it "should" be released on the 18th.
They struggled to sell out the Aragon last month, even with heavily subsidized radio show tickets. I won't be surprised either way.
Radio shows are different from full-fledged concerts.
How? They played a slightly shorter set in a significantly smaller venue, with significantly cheaper tickets. The radio show should have been more appealing in this case.

Yeah but usually the shorter set and whatnot is negotiated as part of their contacts since it qualifies as a 'radio promo' gig instead of a 'tour/one-off' gig. That usually has some differences in terms of how the show is booked/promoted/what's included in it.
And sometimes those shows don't sell as well since usually they are more of a cash grab, with a pulled back production, and while it's cool seeing arena bands in a smaller venue, some fans don't buy tickets to it since it's like a 60/70 min set instead of a 2 hour one, so if it happens to be like a Wednesday night, they won't miss as much.

All of your points are invalid. In addition to the 1975 - Mumford, Cage the Elepant, and 21 Pilots each played radio shows for WKQX this past December, all at the same venue (the Aragon Ballroom). Each of the other bands sold out the Aragon (4500 cap) easily, despite each having played Chicago recently. Based on your points above, why weren't any of the other artists ticket sales impaceted?
I can tell you definitively these shows have greater appeal in Chicago, for whatever reason the 1975's fan base wasn't as interested as they were in the spring. Their billing at the US festivals we've seen them on so far reflects that as well.
Weyes Blood announced a new tour with shows in Louisville on July 31 and Milwaukee on August 1, then nothing until Columbus on August 4. Potential for Sunday?

I mean, that sounds like one of the five bands present on any given day that makes me think “I should buy a single day ticket this year” before realizing that’s a horrible idea, so yeah, that tracks.

Imagine how great they’d be on the Bud Light Stage at 2:45!

Definitely a band you skip at the festival, but snag an aftershow ticket for.

let's be real. what casual fan isn't going to a show cause they think the band will play for 70 minutes instead of 120? they literally have no idea about stuff like that.
