I mean....I guess credit to him for showing up to his kid's game and also just walking away from the incident. Figured he'd blow it up more but maybe realizes in public at your kid's event isn't the right time.
Genuinely curious as to whether they were arguing about his recent shit (like if she's Jewish or something?) or if it's something completely unrelated to that and is like arguing parents about their kids fouling the other one or being mean or some junk lol
Is this really that big of a deal? I'm pretty sure this happens at half of the kid's games in the South.

I think it's funny seeing huge, outlandish personalities like Kanye doing something as "normal" as arguing with another parent at a kid's sport game. Just seeing people do mundane, normal things. It'd be like seeing Prince doing the dishes or David Bowie cleaning up his dog's poop off the sidewalk will out for a walk. Extraordinary people doing ordinary things.
definitely have parents of students i've had act much much worse than that soccer video but they were generally terrible people, so i do think that's inline with what he's been up to.

I'm just not gonna watch that video. That dude would have to save a burning truck full of puppies to redeem himself at this point. And - and this is key - he would have to refuse accept any credit for doing it.
I always thought it was pretty gross the way whenever someone gets cancelled all the people who never liked them for reasons completely unrelated to why they got cancelled get real chuffed about it.
It does feel icky.
I think of popular/polarizing artists I don't care for (for various reasons) and don't think I could rejoice in this kind of downfall of any of them.

On my end, specific to Kanye, it has to do with him finally, finally being in some way held accountable for some of the awful shit he says and does in real ways that go beyond hot social media takes. He embraced fascism - a brand of fascism that is very much set to sweep into all kinds of power next week and fuck up all our lives six ways to Sunday - and so many people hand-waved it away. He said awful, anti-Black shit, and sure, Van Lathan stood up to him on TMZ, but that was kind of the biggest thing to come out of it. He treated accusations of sexual assault against people like Marilyn Manson as a promotional opportunity, and it's not that no one cared, but enough people didn't care enough for anything to come of it. He psychologically abused his ex-wife and her new boyfriend, in full and public view.
The guy's been acting a monster for a long, long time, and seeing people not seem to give much of a shit just felt like
So, then, yeah, I'll admit, there's some base part of me that, when I see the general culture finally say, "Enough," feels a little vindication, just instinctually, just by virtue of having waited so long for it to happen. But, as I said up-thread, that's quickly overwhelmed by the tragedy and overall grossness of how this has all gone, and what's coming out of it. Unfortunately, I think a lot of people get caught up in that first part - that feeling of personal vindication - and not enough take any time or have the perspective to engage with that second part - the acknowledgment that stuff like this happening, things going this bad, someone careening into a hole this way, isn't really something to ever celebrate.

Netflix and David Letterman’s production company edited out comments by Kanye “Ye” West that referenced Nazis and blamed Rihanna for her own domestic abuse during a 2019 interview with the comedian for his talk show.
Audience members Noah Reich and David Maldonado of Los Angeles told TheWrap they were sitting in the center front row of a local theater in January 2019 when West repeated right-wing conspiracy theories, observed that liberals treated anyone wearing a red, pro-Trump cap “like they were Nazis” and noted that Rihanna, a former victim of domestic abuse, must have done something to deserve what happened to her.
Other Ye comments that were edited out included a rant about how an unnamed music executive friend – whom Reich and Maldonado suspected was R. Kelly – got “MeToo-ed” and how West himself could be “MeToo-ed,” they said. The rapper also repeatedly referenced a Hollywood power structure that he suggested was behind the #MeToo movement, which Reich said struck him as a reference to Jewish people.

what's fucked up is that you will get so many ye apologists out here.... I went to the park and talked with some people and this guy was stanning so hard on how Kanye lost a lot of money immediately - doing everything to NOT say "Jewish" people cause it. And this morning, a morning drunk house-mate (not roommate) - pushed me to play Kanye, and then told me he barely comes off the block. We should be fucking worried.

re: stand ups playing colleges, i think college crowds have always kind of sucked for comedians. i don't think it's necessarily being woke or whatever, i think it's just a bunch of young people who are uncomfortable with like, everything. their relationships, their brains, their bodies, etc.
cause you'll even hear pretty sensitive lefty comics like marc maron, or milquetoast comedians like seinfeld, say they won't play colleges.
having said that i was lucky enough to see both lewis black and mitch hedberg when i was in college, shows were great. lewis black was an absolute murderer, room was totally manic.
