Found the comments in a locked headliners post in 2018 so I can't quote, but I said this and it all still is accurate
"Holy crap. I didn't realize this Daughters was the same Daughters I used to see in the early 2000s in Providence, at least 10-15 times over the course of 2 years. The singer worked at the Newbury Comics in the mall and they were fucking awful, I mean just horrendous. They were sleazebags too, stereotypical band who used their local fame to sleep with every girl in the scene, including very young ones.
Man, I can't think of a worse band to have become successful."
Alexis Marshall, the vocalist from Daughters, is apparently an abuser.
I was guessing it was him when she made that first album and said it was a prominent Providence musician. There are not many prominent Providence musicians.

I saw Daughters in 2019 and the lead singer just gave me the creeps in a way that very few artists do. All for performance art, but this dude was clearly legit sleazy.

While I'm no big fan of Baldwin as a person and I'm surprised he was the one to pull the trigger I want to find out more details about the whole thing. Isn't there like, multiple people, in charge of safety and props and things knowing about guns on set? I've seen a few film people commenting that it's ridiculous that this could even happen these days but here we are.

Holy shit, I just actually read some details....it wasn't him shooting another cast member in a scene. The director of photogarphy was killed and the director was injured? WTF
im not a big Baldwin fan, but this is more relevant to "guns are cancelled" since clearly he didn't mean to shoot a LOADED GUN. what the actual fuck. i hate america.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
So there are so many precautions already in place. I am just so baffled by it all.
What in the actual fuck?
just below that tweet you'll see a recent reply that states they haven't begun forensics on the gun yet, so we still aren't sure exactly what happened. the IATSE is just assuming there was a "single live round" based on the damage caused by the blast. they might not be wrong but we don't have definitive answers yet.
whole situation is terrible and confusing. it'll take some time to figure it out.

Brandon Lee was killed on the set of The Crow under similar circumstances. Obviously have no idea if Baldwin’s situation was similar or something much more negligent, but thought folks would find it interesting. In the Crow, part of the scene required the gun to be pointing directly at the camera, and it’s the first thing I thought of when I heard it was the cinematographer who had been killed.
In the film shoot preceding the fatal scene, the prop gun, which was a real revolver, was loaded with improperly-made dummy rounds, cartridges from which the special-effects crew had removed the powder charges so in close-ups the revolver would show normal-looking ammunition. However, the crew neglected to remove the primers from the cartridges. At some point before the fatal event, one of the rounds had been fired; although there was no powder charges, the energy from the ignited primer was enough to separate the bullet from the casing and push it part-way into the gun barrel, where it got stuck (a condition known as a squib load). For the fatal scene, which called for the revolver to be fired at Lee from a distance of 3.6–4.5 meters (12–15 ft), the dummy cartridges were replaced with blank rounds, which contained a powder charge and the primer, but no solid bullet, allowing the gun to be fired with sound and flash effects without the risk of an actual projectile. However, the gun was not properly checked and cleared before the blank round was fired, and the dummy bullet previously lodged in the barrel was then propelled forward by the blank and shot out the muzzle with almost the same force as if the round were live, striking Lee in the abdomen.[99][100]

from Reddit:
I work in props. Apparently the armorer went off set between takes and shot live rounds out of the Colt .45 between takes. The armorer forgot to clear the weapon, so there was still a live round chambered. As a props guy, I can confirm this is absolutely fucking unacceptable, and the armorer is the one who should be held accountable.
the poster is pretty reliable with info from the tv/movie biz.

This is actually what my first thought was also. My boss is a conspiracy theory person and tried to just blame it on Alec Baldwin's past behaviors and alleged dislike of women of power. I had to tell him stop. Then I wondered if it was a scene that caused for the gun to be pointed at the camera. Usually in those situations (now), the DP isn't even supposed to be behind the camera for those type of shots. There is a whole rig, so Idk if that is even an accurate assumption at this point. It is all a bit baffling that this happened.

That is so unacceptable. I can't believe that they would do that. So irresponsible.
No idea if the shot Paul posts here is legit but if so it gets into the conditions on set that led up to this
All these things are why we as a union threatened and almost striked on Monday. Fradurdays and short turn-arounds are detrimental to the health and wellbeing for everyone on set. I can't even imagine what that whole crew, especially those that were on set and witnessed that horrible accident are going through. Devastating.
He's been a panelist on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me a bunch and has been surprisingly thoughtful. It's like he's not his 80's movie characters anymore. (Except maybe Shakes the Clown.)

I don't think he's canceled or whatever but I know I won't ever view him the same. I knew he was a bit of a religious dude but now he's all in on q. I liked Person of Interest and that time travel movie where he talked to his dead dad but Jim Caveziel is bonkers
