2 days! Hoping for Stereolab and Gizz. I would love if this could grow into a mini Desert Daze
EDIT: Now Nelsonville Music Fest and Melted are both actively promoting Desert Daze, very nice
I'd really love to see Stereolab. I thought about driving to Detroit to see them in Oct., but I just went there to see Massive Attack last Thurs. I think I'm done with road trips this year.
Yeah, I saw those Desert Daze posts. Hopefully they can nab some bands from that lineup. Stereolab, Khruangbin, Animal Collective & Temples would be cool. Parquet Courts, Alvvays & The Black Angels have played NMF, so they could be possibilities. The Flaming Lips are probably too big. Devo would be cool, but I don't see that happening. Do you remember when they announced the lineup last year?

November 1st, but since the fest's a bit later next year they maybe not release the lineup until mid-November or early December
Between this and Homecoming next week's gonna be great for Ohioans.
Also, I know instagram followings don't necessarily mean anything but it's very interesting to see Melted following St. Vincent, Angel Olsen, Weyes Blood, Deerhunter, U.S. Girls, Melody's Echo Chamber, La Luz, and Jessica Pratt. The first 2 are NMF alums so it could be nothing, but all the others would fit in really well with Melted's aesthetic

Angel was one of the Levitation headliners this year.

I like the lineup so far, but I'd like to see a few bands that don't come around on the regular. I'm still hoping for Stereolab. They're playing Shaky Knees, so maybe NMF is an option.

I'm with you, these are are good acts but almost all are recent NMF alumni and/or tour Ohio pretty often. There should still be around 5-7 acts to be added so there's definitely still room for more unique acts. Heron Oblivion were the lone addition last year and they were my favorite performance next to Kikagaku Moyo

Just looked up Guerilla Toss on Youtube, their Audiotree Live set to be more specific. I have absolutely no idea what is going on there. It makes me wonder what drug I took and how long before it wears off, and whether I'm in danger. But I kind of like it, I think.
Oh Sees, Twin Peaks, and Death Valley Girls will definitely be good. Mattson 2 look alright. The Lemons might be fun, and they have some bizarre videos. This is looking good enough that I think I'll book an Air BNB and make a weekend of it again.

Betty Dreams of Green Men is such a weird modern take on like the B52s. Love it.
Hey we've got Rock on the Range, er Sonic Temple, LOL.
We have a lot of little festivals throughout the warm season at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park near me. That tends to consist mainly of locals getting absolutely shit-faced drunk (in a bad way) and jumping into the quarry, but there are some fun bands including nationally-known acts sometimes, too. Nice venue and scenery but not normally my scene musically.
Oh yeah, and the opiates and the hippy stuff, but mainly just a liver-damaging amount of booze. I wish Nelsonville was every month, and closer to me, but I'll take what I can get sometimes (pass on the opiates).
