Buku is cool and all but I don’t get why anyone would pick it over Okee which is superior in almost every way. (I’ve been to both, if you’re local it makes sense.) The lineups are always so similar with Okee having more and the most beautiful in the country. (Atleast top 3)

New Orleans seems pretty cool from what I’ve seen and heardfrom every person that goes. I feel like that’s a big plus.
^^ Thanks dread. I had just gotten that texted over too. Flatbush was great when the closed down the Ballroom a couple years ago, and I haven't been able to see them in person since. That's a big want for me. I think I saw some of Glass Animals once, but I don't recall it having made much of an impact on me. I like them though, so that's pretty cool.
I don't really know Dominic Fike, but I do like Florida rappers (Pouya, Flatbush, Ghostamene, Denzel Curry, etc.). So this might be cool maybe?
I don't know Eli & Fur. Wiki says they're from London and play House & Deep House. ?
Flume could be cool, might not. I have had mixed opinions and experiences at his shows.
Ganja White Night I used to not really like, but they play here all the time now and have taken on a much harder edge than when I first saw them. So that's kind of cool.
Goldlink is pretty talented, but the last stream I watched was uber R&B. I'd want to see him rap if he doesn't cancel as he is known to do sometimes.
I have no idea what I_0 is, but edm wiki says "Techno".

I usually prefer Buku's lineup, mostly because of the hip hop. Buku also tends to have at least a few rowdy shows that Okee wouldn't have. Like you're never going to get Death Grips at Okeechobee. I'd much prefer to do a three day camping festival instead of a two day city festival. But Buku usually books more artists that I'm really into.

NOLA is one of my favorite cities (Austin, Denver, Asheville, NO) imo are the big 4. But if you want to fest there go during Jazz Fest which is the cities culture or during Voodoo & Halloween (Museum of death, the cemetery’s etc) I might be biased but I think people greatly underrate the Okee venue. Also 4 days vs 2. More artists, camping vs city etc. They end up costing the same amount etc

That’s fair, they’re similar lineups but Buku does excel in Hip Hop. Looks like they both got Flatbush this year which is cool.

Most of our festival friends that are my kids ages do both every year.
I always like Okee's lineups, but I don't think they are that similar beyond some of the crossover. I'm local, and I'm generally not going to drive to SE FL to go to a festival since that's half a day each way. I was willing to pull the trigger this year, but they wouldn't let me get the ticket options I wanted, so I said fuck it.

I don’t want to take the time to count but there’s usually some heavy crossover I feel. Buku leans more hip hop and emo on some things where Okee has jungle 51 and techno and some more indie rock.
I remember reading about what happened, that stinks man. Okee is definitely in the middle of nowhere so I get that. I hope you can make it down one year. The lineup doesn’t blow me away this year but being 3 hours away it’s hard to pass up a camping trip with some artists I enjoy
Yeah, I do hope to make it down there sometime. That ticket company knows me as I spend thousands with them every year and knows I'm not a scalper. They wouldn't budge though so everyone got skip the line passes at Universal one day, skip the line passes for Halloween Horror Nights one night and a ticket to Tool in a couple of months instead.
Let me know if you do end up coming up for Jazz Fest so we can grab a drink and say what's up.
Edit - Reddit speculation has Tchami possibly playing since he's in Houston on 3/20.
Hopefully with them having the glitch on the app, this means that the lineup will be out in the next few days.
I looked at it and the whole lineup was on there. Didn't take any pictures, but from what I can remember besides what's in the picture: Tyler, The Creator, Chris Lake, Zed's Dead, Megan Thee Stallion, The Trifinity, LSDream (I think), Allison Wonderland, J Worra, JPEGMafia, Kaytranda
If he's right, Trifinity is Toadface, Yheti and Mt Analogue. Chris Lake obviously house. This would be Tyler's 3rd time playing Buku. Megan was a given as she hasn't played it yet. LS*ream just played a couple weeks ago and also did a night show for Buku with the Wakaan Takeover. I guess people like him, but I don't think it's that great musically even if the show is decent. J Worra is house I think.
What's weird is that none of those names are really that big outside of Tyler and Zed's Dead. You'd have thought he would remember some bigger time shit.
Unless it's a fake, and it looks like the other screen shots:
Space Jesus Subtronics Svdden Death: Voyd Taking Back Sunday (which I had leaked earlier) Trinifinity Trigem b2b Meso (local) Troyboi (unspectacular at ACL after great prior shows) Illenium which I won't see Kayzo Unleased Upbeat Academy (local) Video Age ? Young M.A. Zeds Dead $uicide Boys Featuring Travis Barker 100 Gecs
-----------------------------------------
Guy who made the other claim that he saw it all added CloZee, Daily Bread b2b Artifakts, Dance Gavin Dance, DJ Heelturn, Ari Lennox, Bas, Blanke b2b Lick, Bouffant Bouffant, Cashmere Cat, Kota the Friend, Channel Tres
Damn. I might have to do this, wanted to last year but just had moved to Asheville and was still getting my funds back. Haven’t seen Tyler yet on IGOR , a lot depends on if Flume or Kaytranada are at Roo which I have a ticket for already. But damn it might be going down

Damn if I wasn't going to Coachella I'd be very into this

Please note that its a speculation thread and there's really no truth to it. it is guesswork based on artist that are likely to play Buku and those that are touring and close during the time of Buku.
For sure. It's all speculation anyway though the photos look like they could have come from some apps, and also some of what showed up today confirmed some of the leaks I heard about on the streets. Thanks octo.
Here's some more from a video of what looks like the screen shots:
Lady Lavender b2b Edgar Allen Po-Boy (you got to be kidding, but must be local) LS*ream Lucky Daye (local) Malik 95 (local) Mhadi G (local) Mija: Live Mr. Carmack Pluko Raise the Death Toll Roddy Ricch TSHA Turnstile Tvboo (local)
I like this more than a few of the previous years, not bad!
I’m kind of the other way on it, but I’m not hating. There’s a lot I like, a lot I don’t like and some shit I just don’t know. I would rather certain other big DJs than Flume and certainly Illenium who I don’t understand the appeal at all. Lots of research to do once he official lineup and late adds are announced.
I’m assuming that if Animals as Leaders and Veil of Maya are going to play, it would be a midnight show with a second Dance Gavin Dance set.

Ignorant on this act. What do I need to know and what should I check out?
They are a Hardcore band in the vein of the old school 80's and 90's hardcore bands, but less aggressive and with better songwriting. They also have a guitarist that plays full fledged solos and not whatever Greg Ginn thought he was doing in Black Flag. They got lumped in with all of the hardcore/metalcore bands that were coming out of the early 2010's but their last album, 2018's Time & Space has really shoved them into the limelight. They've gone on a bunch of tours with bigger bands and started quite a following. Their older eps sound like classic hardcore, but Time & Space literally transcends both and gives you a glimpse into what Hardcore SHOULD sound like with good production and pizazz.
Check out this video if you have the time, but i would still go listen to the album. There's more production and I think a casual listener would like it more.

Check out SVDDEN DEATH’s VOYD alias. I’m a big fan of his regular alias, but his VOYD alias is a bit moodier and weird in a good way.

That's probably everyone I would see. Really good hip hop lineup, not much for me in way of bands. May come as a shock with all my MCR talk but TBS does nothing for me.
That’s bad ass. We also watched another 2018 set which had endless stage diving. I came up on 80s hardcore and saw almost everyone. I was actually blasting hardcore last night for like 3 hours. So that resonates and looks to be a top show.
Fozzie,
That’s not bad. I’ve seen Svdden Death. Obviously that was pretty bass heavy and I’m cool with that and will get to some of that set.
Mr. Carmack needs to bring his 14 piece orchestra but that won’t happen.
Would see so far $B, 100 Gecs, Bas, Channel Tres, CloZee, Daily Bread/Artifakts, Flatbush, Flume, GWN, Glass Animals, Megan, Carmack, Dance Gavin Dance, Raise Death Toll, Roddy, Space Jesus, Subtronics, Svdden Death, Trifinity, Turnstyle, and Tyler. So that’s not bad to pick from.
