It's okay. All the GoT clones are coming. The Witcher this week. Eventually a Lord of the Rings show. And there were a few others I was thinking about......hmmm.
I saw the trailer for The Witcher and I was like lol no. But if it gets decent reviews and good word of mouth I'll probably give it a try just because its Netflix and I already have it.

I'm gonna get on it this weekend just because I want that genre covered even in my life even though I feel like it's going to be mediocre.

So everyone is aware that Lubeman was Agent Petey that was partnered with Laurie, right? The last Peteypedia stuff that came out heavily implied that Petey was fired from his FBI job/anti-vigilante task force and was doing his own investigations (and may still be doing them) right?
Because that was one of my "I need to know more" things and when it came out that the supplemental material pointed at Laurie's partner being Lubeman that made me smile.

I did not catch that, neither did my current boss.

To be totally fair it's not spelled out in the show. At all. It really relies on you following the supplemental PDFs that they were making to fill in some holes and were releasing each week following an episode. I haven't read them all yet but one apparently gets into why the Night Owl/Dan Dreiberg has been in prison still while Laurie was allowed to leave and help the FBI.
If you didn't pick it up from just watching the show you weren't necessarily supposed to. I haven't kept up with all of them but I do follow a few different reviews/critics of the show where it was brought up.

I didn't know that that had those PDF thing every week. I know what I'm doing tomorrow during "wrap."

Here:
Each "file" is for each episode. And some episodes have multiple files. It's just extra stuff that fills in little things in the universe. Some are more relevant to the HBO series and some are just about the inbetween times.
I wrote some of this on FB, but "I think they did a powerful thing by making a "possibly" contained season that explains a true ending to "The Watchmen" by showing the origins of their rise and demise from an outside view. That outside view being, also the most inside of the story but least fleshed out, it's powerful and unexpected. The fight scene for Hooded Justice actually had me in between crying and reverence."
Realistically the only way to make The Watchmen effective is subvert expectations, we assume, like all that the superheroes have basically been banished -- to know that there is a ripple effect is amazing storytelling.
I imagine next November I'll just rewatch season 1.
lol came in this thread to post about our rewatch and this is the last post. started the rewatch in december so not too far off from my prediction.
just wanted to make a comment about the incredible music programming in this show. i'm watching the show with friends who haven't seen it, which is a lot of fun, particularly because one of them is a massive fan of the graphic novel.
but last night i had to skip ahead to rewatch the final scene of episode 7, "An Almost Religious Awe". use of the reznor/ross version of "Life on Mars" in the final scene of the episode (the "hey baby we're in fucking trouble" scene). maybe the best use of music in a TV show ever? it literally makes me shake with emotion and excitement.

After picking up HBO Max to watch Judas and the Black Messiah, we started in on Watchmen. I purposely avoided reading anything about this show as I figured I'd see it eventually.
Just finished episode 6 and holy shit is my mind blown. This rules.

fuckin incredible right? hard to imagine such a worthy successor to the original. it knows it's utilizing a different medium and plays to those strengths instead of the movie, which just tried to put the comic on the screen (kinda). its just great and the score is addicting.
