I think Win Butler went out guns a blazin’ knowing they probably won’t play this festival again any time soon / ever with his “fake VIP bullshit at this festival super sucks” rant from on stage in 2014. They’ll headline other fests again after their inevitable rebound after a lot of time off in 2022/2023 but they’ll stay sitting this one out I think.
Took Travis Scott 3 years (Outdoor closer) to headline Coachella. You guys really think Billie could headline Coachella after being just there in 2019 even though she had the same position as him back then?

Hard comparison. Travis was on his 3rd project (2nd Major album) and is returning after 2 solo albums (assuming he drops before Coachella)
Billie has one album, less years in between would be returning after 1 new album but Travis never had this Grammy buzz. I still think Billie Ellish headlines after her 3rd album (if this trajectory continues).

Ah, I didn’t see that he did a Honda Center show too. Either way, that means she’s at least on Travis’ level now which is crazy given she hasn’t been around for long at all.

Yeah but Billie is doing a sold out arena tour on the back of one album. If she can do four nights at the 02 in London now, I have no doubt that with a new album she can top the bill as the youngest headliner. Her trajectory is pretty much set. The only argument against it is that she wouldn't be able to fill an hour and a half headline slot lol. It objectively just feels like a guaranteed safe bet at this point

Yeah, I don’t expect Billie to disappear but it’s certainly possible. Whether her hype is sustainable is an open question.

Yeah, when they’re actual studio albums and she already had two of them. I’m not counting mixtapes.
I just can’t count those if Lizzo doesn’t count them lol. She removed them all from streaming. When I say albums I don’t mean technically albums I mean the albums you pull from when you perform.
