I think it’s funny that they bring up CDC compliant when CDC guidelines state pretty clearly that large events should be avoided.

For whatever reason I felt like asking Real Estate in their AMA whether they'd ever play Coachella again and got a hard "no, it's not for bands like us anymore," along with a "big corporate festivals suck." Can def leave them off any future mocks!
Edit: lol, a separate member of the band chimed in to say "I wouldn't be surprised if we did or did not."
Guessing it's still just a formality at this point, but it's pretty odd that they haven't officially canceled the festival yet. Wonder if it's an insurance thing

Yeah, what meatball said, nothing to cancel if it hasnt been announced. What we’re waiting for is the decision of either holding it in the fall and/or moving to 2022. Cause who knows if they changed their mind or not despite the reports of a couple weeks ago.
I genuinely think they'll wait until June to say anything. It'll either be saying 2021 isn't happening while also launching advanced sale for 2022 (which would be on schedule for when that usually happens). Or surprise! Something is happening Fall 2021, whether it's Coachella or something under a different name.

CA announced full re-opening of the economy on June 15th. I'm…pretty surprised at that timeline, but appreciate the vaccine enthusiasm, and announcing it now I'd think might give GV more confidence in an October festival of some sort.

They was a question about festivals during the announcement. The answer was they were confident festivals and conventions will be able to happen at full capacity. They said convention centers will not get full capacity until October 1st. But for now there is no guidance for Fests and the state is working with them to figure it all out. So my guess is vaccine passport or neg test. GV has a path to say something the week of June 15th cause its 2 months for guidance to be created and agreed upon.
