Nobody is saying that is going to happen. But he’ll actually do something. And even though we are doing next to nothing during the second wave, the wave will calm down in a couple months. By then Biden should be instilled and have an opportunity to do *something* which will ease our issues tremendously compared to how this year went.
Something, which is what? The guy has been campaigning for president for six months, and I could not tell you off the top of my head what his COVID plan is. They announced an advisory board just four days ago, when they could have done that when he secured the nomination in May. It's going to be a lot of *listen to science* rhetoric, but they've stated today that it is not their intention to do another lockdown, the number one thing that scientists are recommending, and instead take "a more targeted approach". That doesn't really make sense when the entire country has it. Just seems to me like he's not really up to the task or motivated all that much. His plan is probably going to boil down to a vaccine distribution plan, which means the timeline essentially remains the same.
The biggest issue is that its been an entirely reactive response not proactive. Why the fuck is the CDC just saying they wearing a mask not only protects others but also yourself? Like that hasnt been known this whole time and has been a common practice in Japan, Korea, Taiwain etc for years just in general? We are not a society that considers everyone, just ourselves. The current administration has done the bare minimum this whole time and thought they could skate by. Obviously it didnt work and theyre going to be found responsible for at least 300,000 deaths before Biden takes over.

Too hungry to argue with internet strangers but I know for a fact there’s at least a mask mandate. I also could see a lockdown happening still but that’s me being optimistic

his plan proposes that all governors introduce mask mandates in their states.
He's still at the mercy of individual governors, so nothing has changed or will change there.
I was a bit optimistic about the possibility of a lockdown after hearing about what Osterholm said about it, but that was clarified today:
"I don't think that this is [about] a lockdown or not locking down ... The way we should be thinking about this is more like a series of restrictions that we dial up or down depending on how bad the spread is taking place in a specific region," he said.
Murthy's comments come after news reports of Dr. Michael Osterholm, another member of Biden's COVID-19 advisory team, floating the idea of a four-to-six week lockdown during an on-camera interview with Yahoo Finance on Wednesday.
Osterholm has since told ABC News that he has not discussed this proposal with the incoming administration and doesn't think there's a national consensus for it anyway.
"I've never discussed any of this with them ... Nobody's going to support it. It's not going to be supported out of the administration. It's not going to be supported in Congress," " Osterholm told ABC News.
Haven't you heard, Biden is going to personally call every governor and beg them to institute a mask mandate.
Good luck with our hayseed governor.
What's the good state to move to? Oregon? I've been thinking New Zealand, as far as countries. Maybe Spain? I feel like I know enough Spanish that I could become fairly fluent with a couple months of immersion.
Dave Chappelle is doing a 3 night residency at Stubbs here in Austin next week. It’s under Live Nation. Outdoor venue with tables of 4, 6, and 8. Of course, it sold out in 60 seconds but to get in, you have to take a rapid test before doors open. If you pass, you get in. If you fail, you get your money back. So, Live Nation have already started to do experimental concerts to see what works.
True, it's not as exciting as my Thanksgiving dinner plan, but it's what we got.
The dude’s basically trolling. Obviously he could find the plan in 5 minutes if he cared to.
I said off the top of my head lol not someone Google it for me.
And I think that's true of basically everyone, which is a failure of his campaign and evidence that we're basically just assuming he'll do something. Somehow.

It’s not incumbent upon people to memorize every plan offered by politicians, particularly democratic politicians that don’t work in three word policy proposals like “build a wall” or “repeal and replace.” It’s entirely reasonable for most people not to be able to describe a candidate’s particulars off the top of their head when they’re broadly accessible at a moment’s notice.

It's the greatest crisis of our lifetimes and he's had months to articulate his plan. Agree to disagree there.

Dave did a ton of outdoor shows this summer in Ohio. I went to 5 (saw Louis CK, Sarah Silverman, Kevin Hart, John Mayer, Common, Tiffany Haddish, etc.) . Anyways social distance shows are very possible if masking and social distance are strictly enforced. He is looking for approval to do it again when the weather gets better.
Would anyone be against the promoters and ticketing companies giving priority access to whoever is vaccinated and can legit prove it for any event onsale? That would move the vaccination process pretty quickly I presume. Resale market would have no way of getting in on that either cause they cant fake results. They could send any prospective buyers a unique link for purchases and still have to authenticate to participate in the onsale so no outsider can try to sneak in for those front row seats to see Imagine Dragons lol. And if you did buy tickets that way you cannot transfer them or anything because it would be going to an unknown party which would trigger a refund or voided entry if they had to get tested and were positve.

How would that work for the many, many shows and festivals that have already sold tickets?

Yeah, I'm aware of those but this is the first at an actual venue and not something on a private property. The logistics of running COVID tests in a bustling metropolitan area while everyone remains socially distanced is going to be a tough test.
Where would clipping. be billed? End of first line?
I’m stuck because Daveed is so much bigger than clipping.
more like 4th or 5th line
Really? That's like saying them right now is comparable to boy pablo this time in 2018. I know they're niche but have star power and a TON of critical acclaim. And nearly a decade, if not more, of consistently great albums. I think high third line at the lowest, no?

Could be, but it's really hard to say as they've been around quite some time and haven't yet performed at Coachella. I feel like maybe it's been their choice not to play.

Well in my mind it would be for new events for the time being. It is a really good question though since it would be a way to know how many people are fine and how many people gotta get a test. Just floating the idea, but I think its a way to get the general public to get their shit together and truly realize that normalcy isnt coming back in the snap of a finger like they thought when they went to Sturgis back in the summer.

clipping. isn’t that big and wouldn’t even sniff the 3rd line. Looking at the 2020 lineup, I wouldn’t put them over anybody on the 4th line. I’m guessing 5th line or lower.

I guess I’m overstating Daveed’s fame. Dude is a serious EGOT contender and has almost a million Instagram followers. Also I feel like Visions of Bodies Being Burned is their biggest album yet. Regardless of where they would be billed, I hope to see them on the lineup

It's not like they would be billed as clipping.(featuring Daveed Diggs).
