I just went to the Valley Music Travel website to see how much Safari passes cost (a lot, but still seem to be the only upgrade over GA tickets that’s “worth it”) and VMT has the dates listed as Apr 9-11 and 16-18.

those are the dates google says when you search coachella 2021.

Safari is definitely worth the cost. If you get a few people in your tent it isn’t terribly cost prohibitive ($3700 if you get 4 people to a tent). There is actually a good podcast that discusses this and other coachella nuggets that released today. open.spotify.com/episode/67HAHEXDKypjh7bhc8paVs?si=291XGL_ZT26truP9EGeJ7w&nd=1

Yeah, I was interested in the guest pass but not for $5k. Standing next to celebrities and having a golf cart is cool but I would rather just move into a bigger apartment for that money lol

Sorry to go off topic, but is everyone still anticipating a January lineup release if the fest takes place in October?
III Points is waiting for Coachella to announce so they can release the names of some acts so the original idea was probably January. I’m anticipating III Points to postpone at some point though but either way, I assume Coachella doesn’t want to start letting too many other US festivals start announcing lineups before them.
If BTS is headlining, the latest they can do it is 2022 before enlistment. As I said before, 2022 is probably the safer bet since if BIGBANG is still in, it’s highly unlikely both perform in the same year.
Just a tidbit of info that there are exemptions. A Korean soccer player got exempt because they got gold at the Asia Games.

They'll probably put out a statement around the usual lineup release date that they're going to monitor the situation and attempt to have the festival in October if it is safe to do so and they'll say they're announcing the lineup at a later date. Maybe they'll toss us a bone with the headliners or something.

Stagecoach is still officially late April 2021, but they are 2 months behind their usual lineup drop.
The recent White Stripes action (greatest hits album, live album, uploading some live performances) has me wondering if a reunion is in the works; gotta think Coachella would hop on that in a heartbeat.
for what it's worth, I did hear they were kicking the tires on possibilities for a Stripes reunion.
-Anxiety for 50% of the band probably not touching a drumstick in 14 years and being under extreme media scrutiny. -Jack saying WS was his solo project in Rolling Stone. -Jack snark after his last headline Coachella set. -Jack having limited contact with Meg.
Has anyone of Meg's stature gone that long without playing? Cars drummer or original Santana percussionist sorta count, but they could hide int he background and had clicktrack/drummer safety nets. I think James Williamson played guitar at home in 30 years between Iggy/Stooges stints.

I don't think the '02 World Cup team got that exemption and they made the semis. That stuff is rare. Kinda doubt the gov't would give it to BTS.

It’s well worth it. You can always grab a quick side hustle

Celebs end up popping up in the artist compound moreso then the front pit areas. Vip/guest is just the thing you need to get to all the food offerings or else youll be bummed you cant buy from certain vendors cause of it. Overall, you kind of lose touch with the fest itself if you really use it. When I won them in 2014 we really used the golf carts to get around and youre just not on the fields as much cause you get let off at a stage and walk right into the front pit area then you love along. Sorta takes away some of the random moments you have walking around. Still made a big diff when it was windy af though at night that weekend.
Frank will release something on Jan 20th just to fuck with everyone.
Are you saying Coachella is making an announcement the day after?
US politics will be poo-show on Jan 6th and Jan 20th. Can't see them dropping a full lineup for April or October. Postponement and several acts maybe. Fans having money to spend is yet another question.
