I want to see everyones plan and what theyre specifically doing so that the picture is clearer on what can be done here to successfully hold a big event. Like a couple of big shows got announced in LA for Sept and Oct with zero restrictions. Thats interesting and shows an optimistic outlook for 7 months from now. I think that Insomniac thing might end up being an example of what not to do and hopefully doesnt scare other states and cities/counties over the slew of big events that could happen in the fall if allowed to move forward.
And as being somebody that keeps a lot of tabs on what happens over there cause of friends and having skin in the game ( glastonbury tickets ), I wont believe it til I see it. Bojo and co still got plenty of time to fuck it all up. They are doing well on the vaccination front and project everyone in the country will have had their first dose by end of July which is very promising. You also missed this tidbit from the road map which is where I think it wont be a def June 21 cause its england, theyre on our level of shit show pre biden.
132. DCMS and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy have been working with representatives from industry and civil society to explore when and how events with larger crowd sizes, less social distancing or in settings where transmission is more likely (i.e. indoors), will be able to return safely. This includes sports events, music festivals and large weddings and conferences.
133. Over the spring the Government will run a scientific Events Research Programme. This will include a series of pilots using enhanced testing approaches and other measures to run events with larger crowd sizes and reduced social distancing to evaluate the outcomes. The pilots will start in April.
134. The Government will bring the findings from across different sectors and different settings to determine a consistent approach to lifting restrictions on these events. Depending on the outcome of this work, the Government hopes to be able to lift restrictions on these events and sectors as part of Step 4.
But if June 21 is legit, its gonna go down like this lol
I think the confirmation that the vaccine also is 90% effective in limiting the spread is a big-time sign of optimism for this festival.
Between this (if true, I'm still trying to be cautious in my optimism) and (fingers crossed) approval of the J&J vaccine on Friday, we should be in a pretty good place by the end of summer. J&J say they will be able to vaccinate 20M people in March. If those numbers kept up, we could have 100M getting that vaccine alone by the end of July.
The main thing we'll have to worry about are vaccine-resistant variants that have evolved away from the spike protein, but that's always been the concern. If that happens, we're basically back to square one vaccine-wise, because all of the developed vaccines target that protein, afaik. The good news on that front is that the spike protein is how the virus attaches to host cells, so a completely new protein that still effectively attaches to cells would have to evolve. That may be unlikely. But who really knows.
Now apply this to here and I am game. Just put in all the right safeguards to prevent tampering like rotating barcodes and the like.
it would be a real bummer if the rest of the world used their Health Departments to confirm if people have been vaccinated before they enter the venue while in America we are going with “sign this liability waiver so you can't sue us.”

More like “we wont follow your rules just cause they make sense! MURICA!”Just comes down to privacy concerns. Yet there is likely going to be a way to protect that data but there will be some whiny asses that will fight it.
Hahahha, Bruno would headline on his own if it ever happened. But something like this would be second line no matter what. Only way its on the Outdoor is if the schedule was so stacked that they had to make a choice or to give a longer set time and if they requested to be in a smaller setting.

Bruno + Paak is a headliner + a sub...can’t see them booked as less than a sub. But at the same time, unless they were both playing their own music (I’m assuming Silksonic is a new project?), I don’t think they’d be a headliner.
Bruno and Anderson Paak together that sounds too good to be true. But yeah Bruno is nothing short of a headliner, no matter what. But I doubt "Silk City" would play Coachella before Bruno as a solo artist. Have Paak guest for a couple songs, and then do a separate Silk City tour.

It depends on what a Silk Sonic tour looked like. If they toured as coheadliners with Paak basically opening for a Bruno set, plus a few songs together, I could see this album setting up a Bruno headlining set with Paak sitting in for a few.
If they wanted to tour this a true duo (or trio with Bootsy) where it’s primarily them performing their songs together, then I could see Silk Sonic as a sub. They’d probably want a performance that could promote their tour, but since the catalog they picked from would be limited it wouldn’t really make sense to give them a headlining set.
