Aphex was an extremely rare and much more expensive act to book. I think James would end up 4th or 5th on the second line his day.
Wasn't saying otherwise. Just saying James has actual mainstream appeal and could have higher billing because of that.
Does Bon Iver have mainstream appeal cause he worked with Kanye and won a Grammy? James Blake is on the first line and thats perfectly fine. Does he need to be 3rd overall to solidify his career or something? There was a perfect storm with the 2020 poster if he was on Sunday with Frank on there.

I don't get what you're arguing here. Yes to an extent? Do I think a person who likes Kanye's rapping will like Bon Iver singing Skinny Love? Probably not. But James has Mile High which was a pretty big hit, producer credits on King's Dead and a slew of other big songs while also being a critical darling. I also think his music and show in general would translate to a Coachella crowd really well

Yeah, his show would work well with the festival cause the flower crown peeps eat his shit up every day. And maybe he just keeps on saying no to the offer and thats why he hasnt popped up in 8 years and counting. Even more surprising is that he never even appeared on an FYF lineup again after playing once too.
I really don’t get what you’re arguing here. I’ve not said anything to the contrary of what you’re saying. My first post on the subject was about his billing and why I thought he could be in the 3-5 range

With Life Is Beautiful lineup coming out tomorrow, how many of those artists do we expect to cross over . I don’t think there is usually much but LIB is before Coachella so that might make a difference.

Can't imagine any crossover happening since they're like 3 hours apart. With rumors of Megan Thee Stallion being on the lineup and it being almost all Americans, I can see this as an indication that Coachella is moving to April
The unknown name on Life is Beautiful might be Meg. If it is, wonder if that means Coachella happens this year.
I think the unknown name heavily suggests that Coachella is at least considering a fall fest and have locked up some names for it. Whether it's Meg or not. Coachella is really the only fest that blocks others from announcing.

LiB lineup is overall meh to meh, all the people I would want to see, I've seen before. Besides Ludacris, I'd be hyped to finally see Luda perform hits for days. But I might just go just because I miss festivals so much.
It could also be someone they are still in negotiations with
This!!! I’m concerned about the lack of international talent on the LIB lineup. That doesn’t bode well for a fall Coachella in my mind, but I’d love to be proven wrong.
If there is a fall coachella there likely won't be many international acts.
Do you think that’s viable for this festival? If that were the case then I would think Goldenvoice would focus on some of their other fests which primarily book American artists for the fall of 21. Refocus on Coachella for 2022 and hit it out of the park once touring logistics have been figured out.
Interpol & The Walkmen 11.23 I Am Morbid/Suffocation 11.26 King Diamond 11.29 Sadistic Intent/Massacre 11.30 70K Tons Of Metal 2025 Hell's Heroes 2025 Sick New World 2025 Maryland Deathfest 2025

Yeah. Give us lovers & friends back! Pretty sure that entire lineup was American

I think at some point they're gonna try to attempt recreating that lineup (hopefully Cruel World too)

Just do the 3 fests they had to scrap over Coachella weekend. Lovers and Friends, Cruel World and finally announce Just Like Heaven.

I'm curious who they planned to book for JLH's second version.
I remember reading somewhere online (well over a year ago lol) that they were trying for The Strokes and LCD Soundsystem. Maybe it was complete BS, but those acts would definitely fit in with the kind of music they were booking for the first one.
