Yeah, but apparently its too draconian for festivals to do it cause MURICA. 🙄
Printed code should be easy to forge or similarly sidestepped. Even with names/photos attached(ie: siblings)
For anyone with season tickets and no vaccine by choice, does that mean getting tested more than once a week?
Do people have to wait 2 weeks after full vaccination for ant-bodies to build up. Will VIPs in LA that bought black market vaccines have that date open to hackers?
Once you get clubs full of drunk people or 20,000 people at an arena that will all go out the window. I'd be like a Tool show with initial waits pushing an hour. When the 2010 Winter Olympics were in Vancouver you had to get there 2 hours early to pass security check - even with free tickets offered I passed up a couple events.
Festivals are probably all talking to these companies and figuring out implementation within their apps. Rotating qr codes are at least one way to fight against forgery. When you register your wristband you need to also provide your vaccine info which is ties to you so its gonna have to match. Unless now youre going down the route if secondary market sales that have an activated wristband that has a vaccine registration tied to it. The thing is theyre going to have to look at all if this and make a choice. And without any public info on the guidance, we are just in the dark and have to make the best guess as to what they will do.
2021 options
Adele ( new album and fits her desire to do select performances ) Dua ( if sandwiched in between 2 names that are bigger and apparently agents only wanted the top spot ) BTS ( clock is ticking unless theyre gonna wait for the reunion ) Taylor Swift ( was an eventuality and she gave into performing at festivals ) Coldplay ( “environmentally friendly”) Gaga ( logical signing following the secret set ) Kendrick ( new album and a no brainer for them ) Drake ( just long enough to get another chance ) Arcade Fire ( new album and havent played since 2014 ) Foo Fighters ( wouldve been 20 years since they played and they have zero issues doing a hits set ) Imagine Dragons ( if youre looking at a worst case scenario choice )
They wouldve waited on Billie to release the next album which def wouldnt have had signs of showing up yet if she toured. You wouldve been looking at getting someone who was gonna be burnt out doing a victory lap festival set. Who says she wouldnt have gotten injured again anyway.
My biggest want for 2021 would have been Adele. But I can see any of Adele, Bruno, J Cole (with new album as a light Friday pick), BTS, Rihanna, etc in play.. Dua to me, right now is the highest level sub they can get but I'd say one more album from being nothing less than a headliner. Not many rock or rap options in my opinion, who haven't been booked as a headliner already. So I can see Coachella going majority pop headliners for the next couple years.
I feel like J Cole has lost a ton of steam. Like I don’t hear kids talking about him and anyone my age I hear talking about his is saying he the one savior of rap in the same way people complain that no music has guitars anymore
Nope, and yet when they booked j Cole for Day N Vegas it was like hyped that he would make the jump finally. Oh yeah, Cardi B prob never comes back unless she headlines and the same goes for Post Malone.

I think the only rap options left that haven't headlined already are Post Malone, J. Cole (questionable), Lizzo (maybe) and Cardi B. Perhaps Megan Thee Stallion and Tyler the Creator if they can reach that level. I'm guessing we'll someone rise the ranks in the next year or so though. It's sad Pop Smoke died, I think he could've reached that level.

What percentage of Stagecoach attendees don't have phones?
It's the paper vaccine receipts where things get interesting. Under 16s/18s, if the fest has rules, who can't get vaccines will surely find a backdoor.

Lizzo is going to have a major drop in popularity due to being out of the spotlight all last year. Megan over took her pretty quickly.

Tyler needs 1 album. Megan is a looooong ways away. Uzi needs 2 major albums. DaBaby is not happening. Sad future’s output has been lackluster cause he was on his way

Theyll have to find a way for Stagecoach or fuck em all. Maybe GV scraps it and leaves it for next year so there isnt covid backlash. Theyre so scared of that audience as it is cause they cant even book the Dixies or Dolly without inciting a riot.
Tyler would seem poised to get a shot at headlining since he was 3rd overall in 2018. Same billing Travis had the year prior. Speaking of, you think Flog Gnaw sneaks back in for November? Just have to plan around the vaccination site which only takes up 3 of the 15 parking lots of Dodger Stadium.

I really couldn't imagine Pop Smoke headlining...
Nor can I see guys like DaBaby, Uzi, etc
I can see Post Malone
I can see Cole if he has another big album
I can see Cardi B if she drops another big album
I can see Tyler if he has another big album, not sure if the crowd is right for him though
Chance the Rapper needs another huge mainstream album to get him back in the limelight after his last awful album
Travis I can see ofc
Can't see anyone else in rap except repeats or collabs (KSG, WTT, etc)
Headline or not at all: Post Malone, J Cole (not a Cole fan but if his next album gets praise he can slide in like Gambino did)
One more big album needed and they're a lock: Tyler, The Creator
High level sub: Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, Cardi B (you could argue Cardi for headliner but I don't think she's that yet. Even with another big album idk, she'll be a headliner most places but Coachella idk)
Lil Baby, DaBaby, Young Thug, etc of the world.. I think those artists max out at being 3rd at the highest.
I wish Coachella booked Wayne in his prime. Too late for him now though.
Collab headliners.. maybe they can put together a Young Money headliner that's, obviously, mostly Wayne, Drake, Nicki. That way Wayne and Nicki can say they've headlined, and Drake can get his Coachella redemption without it just being him on the poster. They can throw in a few Tyga songs if they want lol.
I'd love a longer Dre and Snoop set, knock on wood but with Dre's health scare they can get him again while we still have both legends.
Watch The Throne is far fetched but it's the biggest rap headliner possible if they can patch up their relationship. KSG would be cool if they did another project together.

I'll approach this another way. Is this about protecting fans in an air tight manner or simply putting up enough barriers to avoid any legal liability? I'm guessing guests of artists(kids/expecting wives) can get backstage(and crowd areas) without vaccine proof and maybe without neg test. Chella/StageCoach are different audiences and they already have very different venue booze rules, maybe attendances policies will also differ.
The Tanya Tucker dates mentioned earlier in this thread hint that Stagecoach is happening.

I think Tyler easily headlines. He’s a Goldenvoice favorite, has headlined other events, and had a very successful arena tour off a very successful album.

Its probably a combination of both. Theyre going to mean well and still have had the lawyers make sure theyre covered. But you know itll be obvious to us ticketholders where they stand by the policy put into place. Look at LiB and their answers to whats going to be done. Even admitting theyre not answering the question. Compare that to Reading/Leeds where they lay it all out there. Thats why if everyone pretty much has the same entry policy itll be harder to discern who is just trying to make a quick buck vs ones that dont want to make headlines for the wrong reasons.
I feel like Tyler has been an album away for at least two albums. Don't see it.
What? 2 albums ago he was an outdoor closer and proceeded to drop the 2 biggest albums of his career and won a Grammy last year. If his next album is Igor-level of success I don’t see how not.

One album ago he was sub subbing for HAIM and Beyonce to a crowd he was up-front about not being into the show. Igor was 71st in album sales in 2019. A lot of rappers sold more albums than Tyler that year. I think he has CFG and that's their lane with him and if he were to headline Coachella they would consider that a step down in size from what they're used to putting forward as headliners, to say the least.

I hear you. But I'll counterpoint with a broad generalization: kids who are seniors in high school right now grew up with Tyler and fucking love him. Those same kids will be the festival demo in a year or so.
And while I don't claim to love Tyler, I've never been bored listening to an album of his. He's always doing interesting and wild ass shit.

I think the majority of Tyler fans are probably in their mid to late twenties and have been going to festivals for awhile. Kids that are in high school now probably think Tyler is old. I'm sure some like him, but I don't think that's his demo.
Igor was his first widely acclaimed album. Flower Boy was the album that definitely got him more ears than he had before. All his stuff before that was extremely niche. He was 3rd on his day off of Flower Boy but he played in front of the Beyhive so that's an asterisk. He subbed for Kendrick off of Igor at Day n Vegas. So one more album of that magnitude would put him at headline level. Yeah he has Flog but he can debut his latest album at Coachella 7 months before Flog hits. And tbh I feel like there will be a year soon where Tyler doesn't play Flog himself and he just takes the full host role.

Tbh I thought that would be this year. Finally get Frank after Coachella. Then Tyler comes out with an album 2021. But again this was before the world screwed everything up
