Probably nothing but Travis Scott tweeted his album title out. It isn’t new news so it could just be random promotion or if you want to read into every thing because you want a festival it could be he got the go from Coachella so he knows it’s time to make sure that album is out by October

Outside Lands commented on an Instagram post that they’d have an update soon, and had a generally optimistic tone to it. If they think they can do an August festival in SF, the most covid-cautious place in the country, Coachella should be able to do October if they want to. And if they have an announcement coming soon, gotta think Coachella does too.
Time frame wise if they waited til June when the 2022 presale would happen that still places them in a similar window they have with a Jan announce for April. So youre either going with October and/or preparing for the following year with that move.
I think the majority of Tyler fans are probably in their mid to late twenties and have been going to festivals for awhile. Kids that are in high school now probably think Tyler is old. I'm sure some like him, but I don't think that's his demo.
i should be transparent, whenever i am generalizing high schoolers my source is my awesome niece and her friends. she may not be indicative of all high schoolers but she's what i got. and i was surprised to find out how passionate she is about Tyler.
Tyler definitely has two totally different waves of fans. People who were in high-school/middle school during the Odd Future, Bastard, Goblin years and people who were/are in school for the Flower Boy/Igor era. So I'd say both mid 20s, early 30s + teenagers love him. Which is more reason to why he's a headliner candidate next album. I, personally, graduated high school 2012 but I wasn't into Tyler until Flower Boy when I was 24. I loved a few song from Cherry Bomb but I overlooked him because of how the average Tyler fan was. Made me assume all his music was bad, and I was mistaken. Retro actively got into his stuff, as far as his old stuff goes I mainly love his beats than his lyrics.

If Outside Lands posts a date for this year, I'll be on the full optimism train for Coachella.
OSL has a date Aug 6-8. I feel they move it to September tho
For what it’s worth tame impala has re-scheduled their chase center date to September 15.
They wouldve already made the exception having them back in the bay a month after OSL as it is since APE is promoting the show. What youre asking from APE is to put on OSL and then turn around and go to Vegas the following weekend for LiB since they put that one on too.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Pretty much youre going to say any act that violates the same old radius clause is out then.
Regarding the general radius clause topic, except for a couple acts with access to a private jet, touring acts may be limited to a single continent thru end of 2021. Expecting them to skip major city paydays to play festivals like Coachella/Lolla etc after 18 months of no revenue will definitely be a negotiation sticking point. Festivals should all sell out with max allowed capacity with any half decent lineup.

So, someone on Reddit is saying that they talked with the Marriott concierge manager and they said “we don’t believe that music festivals will be happening this year at all.” They apparently know what’s up given that they are one of the main hotels that Goldenvoice uses. Take it as you will.

In my limited exposure they are a bit darker and more off kilter than post. Still a smooth sound, almost Bone like at times. But I'm no expert Ive just listened to a few tracks the spotify algorithm threw at me.

As someone who does some work with hotels, I highly doubt that they know much at all about music festivals happening or not, unless this was someone who happened to know people at Goldenvoice outside of their employment at Marriott.
This is truly Rolling Loud Utah, complete with white rapper headliners.
TBH I'm surprised we're seeing blurred names already between this and Life is Beautiful. Amidst all the predictions that there's pent-up demand for festivals and the floodgates are gonna open once restrictions are lifted, promoters/organizers still don't deny that they still need to use these kinda marketing tactics to get people to buy tix for the bigger fests.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

I don't think it's going to be as easy to get tours off the ground as you'd think. The GM of the Fox Theater in Oakland gave an interview recently where he commented on staffing problems as a result of the pandemic:
When we get the green light for shows to open in full capacity, it won’t be for a couple of months after when we actually see concerts return. We need time to get ready and unfortunately, a lot of staff has moved on from this industry. When we come back from this, a lot of the people who we started with, won’t be there at the other It’s a long road ahead.

We just reverted to “i know somebody’s second cousin that was an assistant to Drake’s tour manager who heard it from his driver he is playing Coachella”.
