Take a measure. Then cut it in half. Then cut it in half again. That's basically been the American response to the virus. So canceling a couple games instead of the season (for now) fits well with that.
There's a lot of shit going down in Mississippi right now. The legislature voted to remove the stars and bars from the state flag, and the governor signed that bill. 36 of those legislators currently have COVID-19, because even though they finally came together to do the right thing about the flag after 130 years, they were idiots about wearing masks at the state capitol. Dumb. But a really cool thing is the activism of college football players (and athletes at large) standing up and fighting back against racism. They're helping to get results and plan to fight on. This is an important story, but it's one you would think was from the late 1960's rather than 2020.
tl:dr “Everything stopped. There’s nothing going on. There aren’t any sports. We can’t just shut up and dribble,” she said. “We can’t just stay in our lane. We have to speak out about what’s going on.” <-- Donnetta Johnson
“All history is meant to be remembered, but not all history is meant to be celebrated.”
Yeah I saw that and was like, wtf? Dude must love Knoxville or something. He had his shortcomings but I'd still say he's at least in the top 3rd on FBS DCs
So we lost home games against Louisville, Akron, NC St and The Citadel and replaced them with home games against Pitt and Miami and a road game @vt. That's definitely a little tougher, but fun. But aslo weird, we could have still played NC St and Louisville, who are in our division.

No divisions this year! Which I love and hope endures beyond this season.
Holy shit. I didn't realize Clemson and South Carolina had a 111 year streak going in the rivalry.
This is bullshit. We can't play SC but we're going to Boston and South Bend. I hate it. Props to SC for being the only vote in the SEC for playing non conference games. Fuck the rest of you SEC bitches.
Tennessee adds Auburn and A&M. 0.0000002 seconds later, the online fan base starts posting about how this is all a plot against Tennessee. We're the worst fucking fans sometimes.

They definitely helped out the teams at the top and screwed the ones at the bottom.

it's like they forgot we were supposed to go to Norman for a game. I like my chances against A&M or Auburn rather than OU.
hopefully the schedule is backloaded and we start with wins over arkansas, vandy, and mizzou before the season inevitably gets cancelled.
