A few schools in my area starting to move to online classes. I have a couple of labs so I'm not too sure how that will work out if in person classes are cancelled.
I am an E.M.T. and our company CEO just sent out an e-mail this evening announcing the first positive case in our county was discovered today. They were a walk-in and we didn't transport - but the game is now on.
I work a 7on-7off type of schedule, and tomorrow is my first day back. Perfect timing! We're being told to basically put a surgical mask on every single patient with a suspected respiratory issue. And I am gonna be rockin' my N-95 mask hardcore.
NOLA just cancelled everything but festivals. All the parades, Wednesday at the square all cancelled (not Jefferson parish yet). Three presumed infected, three different hospitals.
Buku is this weekend and they haven't cancelled yet.
I’m still planning on going for now. All My elderly relatives have passed on. I don’t want to catch it and deal with another head or chest cold or infection, but I’m not 100% on the right move yet.

Yeaaaah someone I’m dating is also an EMT and he lives in the county where first case in our state was reported last week and works in the county where the next few have been.
Have legit said “wash your hands very well all the time pls.” Virus contraction isn’t my kink.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Yeah, we're supposed to go to Disney in less than two weeks. Super torn right now.
I would’ve thought crowds had died down by now. Nope.
I saw an article the other day that tourism in Florida and Orlando is feeling the pinch, but Disney has seem no discernable drop. Even with Disney's assurances that they're on top of disinfection, you'd think it'd be dipping some.
Yeah, we're supposed to go to Disney in less than two weeks. Super torn right now.
I have tickets for a lot of shows right now. Nothing cancelled yet. One way to look at it is we're going to have a lot of money if everything is cancelled.

I'll stay even on Disney because we will just reschedule rather than cancel. Thankfully, my job is flexible enough with time off that I am pretty wide open with when we would try again aside from a few things that I cannot get around. The biggest issue really would be that my Fastpass situation is pretty boss, and that would likely have to start over.

Or not if you get sick and have to self-quarantine and don't have sick leave, PTO or a nice cushion of money.

This is the real facts. abrakapokus was explaining to her parents yesterday how they need to be concerned about even going through the drive-thru at McDonalds since that is the kind of industry where sick leave isn't really guaranteed and even if sick leave is there, they may face pressure from management to come in anyway if the place is short handed.

You and me both, and I'll be getting 4 King Crimson tickets today if I get the code (so another $400+/-). I was thinking about that last night. This is mostly March/April/May with Bonnaroo thrown in:
Buku Fest (Too Buku) - $742 Bonnaroo - $400 Primus Tribute to Kings x 3 - $300 Umphrey's - $40 Disco Biscuits 2 nights - $114 Turkuaz Remain in Light x 2 = $116 Tractorbeam x2 $70 Doom Flamingo - $35
So a little over $1,800? I can always use that, but I was happy enough to have tickets to those shows. :/
Shiz's for real gettin' real if they're closing the waffle house.
for our friends who haven't lived in the Southern USA, the Waffle House Index is a real (if informal) metric used by FEMA to gauge the effect of a storm.

6 fests, a few concerts, and other events. I added it all up, and we've spent $5200 total on just tickets. Guess silver lining is at least we'll have something for the savings.
