Not having to sit through Fall Out Boy is a win for all attendees.
LOL I was thinking the same thing. If they could just remove Fall Out Boy and bump up Weezer (and give them more time even) for the Hershey Show I'd be ecstatic.
Carnival cruise lines just announced that they're requiring a negative test within 3 days of your trip even for the vaccinated. That coupled with the entire crew vaccinated, 95% of guests vaccinated, indoor masks, and reduced guest capacity might make cruise ships be one of the safer summer vacations?
I see my first show back tomorrow! Kinda worried it’ll be the last though
Same here. Any chance it's the Caroline Polachek/Alex G show? I found a cheap ticket yesterday, felt like I needed an insurance policy if we lose fall shows again. Plus, "Bunny Is a Rider" is a bop.

That's crazy cause I imagine a fair % of people who regularly go on cruises are the old conservatives/antivax/libertarian/qanon types

Nah cruises are nastyyyyy. Plus people coming and going from the boat to god-knows-where and back probably won't be a great combo either.

Eh- to each his own. We've been on a few, I dig them and am planning on going on one in a few weeks. Being an uber away from a cruise port makes it a super simple/cheap vacation for us that we have to do zero planning for.
Plus, I've been in a lot nastier places at <insert music festival here>.

I had a lovely time on a Holland America cruise to Alaska, but most of the passengers were elderly people just wanting to see some wilderness. Went on a different cruise to Baja that was a much different vibe with a younger demographic, and I'm not sure I'd do that again.

The only cruise I've been on was in the mediterranean, so we were exploring multiple countries at a rapid pace, so that's my lens. Maybe a more chill cruise with less off-ship travel would be less likely to pass around viruses and other cooties.
Oh shit, they have done it now. Metro Nashville Public schools director has recommended masks be worn indoors and on buses. Some Republican senator from Dave Maynar country is going to blow a fucking gasket.
I’m also not a fan of cruises. I admittedly have never been on a private cruise or a really small boutique cruise like some of the higher end, limited ones they do through the Panama Canal. I’ve been told by people who have done those that they were great.
What is pretty great is that our company issued some financial incentives for people to get vaccinated. Almost all of our employees are from Texas to Florida. We have a few thousand people. A recent survey yielded that slightly under 50% of employees have been fully vaccinated. That’s better than all the states we work in overall but still not very good. They are doing a 3 tier approach:
Automatic $150.00 for everyone vaccinated by 9/30. 2x a month $10,000 drawings for those fully vaccinated through September. And finally if the company can get to 75% by 9/30, they’ll do a $100,000 drawing with an additional entry for every month an associate has been vaccinated. I seriously doubt we will get to that level, because this is the fucking South [tm]. But I’ll take the $150.00 and shot at the 4 $10k drawings.

Nearly every club in Chicago made a vaccine mandate announcement today of some kind, feels like there’s a tipping point coming (at least in certain areas) for private vaccine mandates coming in.

Just gonna depend on if youre in a city with a lot of indie venues or if theres new covid mandates coming.
Circling back to the cruises. I've been on a few. I have severe allergies and lost my voice one the first day of the last one I went on. It was supposedly a new boat, but there were issues. I'd never go on a cruise again, especially during covid. They're environmentally horrible as well.
I couldn’t help myself and browsed the Covid thread on the reddit lollapalooza board. We are only a week out, but the results are very encouraging. Bonnaroo needs to step up and implement the same safety measures. Today.

They 100% should, but every day that goes by without an announcement increases my worry that they won't. I really don't understand what the hold-up is if they've actually made the decision to implement that kind of policy.

I think the holdup is Tennessee republicans. They are probably threatening permits and whatnot if they require.
It makes me so mad that these elected officials are doing everything in their power to NOT keep their constituents safe. It's fucking disgusting.
