Doesn't truevine work in the music industry in some capacity? The fact he has these anti-vax stances is so ironic and a slap in the face to everyone else trying to make a living in this industry. People who have refused to get the vaccine like truevine are the reason we're still in this mess as bad and is the reason why the music industry can't fully recover yet.
Seriously.
Tours or festivals delayed until next year? You can blame people like truevine for that.
Shows getting cancelled last minute, leaving fans without a show and people out of work for them? truevine and others like him are the reason.
Upset about vaccine and testing requirements at shows? Funny enough, that's also the fault of people like truevine!
The fact that truevine doesn't like mandates is also incredibly ironic, because if people like truevine weren't as reluctant in the first place then THERE WOULDN'T BE ANY FUCKING MANDATES! Also, as somebody who just started working with a local promoter, seeing people like truevine in the same industry refusing to get the vaccine is such a "fuck you". truevine's refusal to get the vaccine is harming the very industry he works in. He doesn't realize how much his selfishness and others like him are fucking us all over. Either that or he just doesn't care and doesn't mind being an asshole. If that's the case then I hope he either changes his tune or fucks right off out of this industry forever.

Drafted and deleted all sorts of emotional pleas about the health and safety of my young daughters being more important than clinging to some vague fuzzy anti-capitalist/BIG PHARMA “philosophy” but realized it was pointless. Kudos to everyone who tried last night. What a thread to wake up to, wish I’d just kept my morning reading to Lineup Discussion.
In other interesting news, studies are finding that when you mix and match vaccines, your immunity is boosted even higher. Like folks that got Astra Zeneca and then were given Pfizer got a significantly higher immunity boost than those that just got Pfizer.
*this is in no way an endorsement to run out and get a different vaccine

I saw something about that recently. My dad also said he saw something about mixing and matching pfizer and moderna being more effective than just one or the other. Maybe i can grab a moderna booster when its time
I am slightly immunocompromised so I reached out to my doctor today about getting a booster and he said "absolutely." So I'm going this evening. I've heard the third can be a real bitch. Really hoping the side effects wear off before Wednesday night...
Let us know how this goes please.
13 hours later and I'm doing well. Very mild body aches, fairly certain I don't have a fever. My arm is sore, that's probably the worst part. Honestly, I think so far this was easier than my second. Not sure if that means my body had already rid itself of the benefits of the first two vaccines. If that's the case, well then I'm really glad I got the booster.

Interesting... my doctor told me that I needed to get the same as I did with my first two (Moderna), and when I went to CVS yesterday, they checked my vax record and also gave me Moderna again. I'm guessing these studies are a little too new for them to be implemented across the board.

I remember seeing a uk study suggesting this a few months ago but like Druid pointed out it was specifically about astra Zeneca and Pfizer. Unless there’s an official study for mixing Pfizer and Moderna it probably won’t ever get any sort of official recommendation. If I remember correctly Pfizer/Moderna mixing is somewhat common in Canada so there might be some data there.

Blaming minorities for your own anti-vax agenda is some mind-bending I haven't seen in a while. I mean I love the care for minorities but I'd put it at all of the non-Western people who haven't gotten it because Western countries refuse to push Big Pharma to release the patents on the vaccines so those countries can start producing them for themselves. What a ride man.

The skills developed from my years of collecting Pokémon will finally be put to use.

Our govt wanted to do this (cause AZ is a long waiting time to get the second shot) but weren't sure about the consequences, good about these outcomes.

They have been testing Pfizer + Moderna and getting better results as well.

I would say about half of my industry / artist friends haven’t gotten the vaccine. I think the hesitancy is because most of them already recovered from the virus. Also Miami is different than LA/NYC, people here act like the pandemic is over when this is the highest surge of cases we’ve seen.
I know I’m a good scapegoat on here for you guys to let out your frustrations but a reminder that there are 100 million people like me in this country who will never get the vaccine.

Of course it’s not over, and using multiple interventions - testing, masking indoors, improving ventilation, and yes, getting vaccinated - helps. But just because you know people who are hesitant too for the same reasons you are doesn’t mean that you and them are more right than the majority of the medical establishment.

And there’s also at least one person who will get severe Covid and won’t have access to life saving therapy because you refused to get vaccinated and took their spot in line. Does that honestly not bother you as a Christian? You knew how to swim but took someone’s spot in a lifeboat instead.
This is the same argument as saying don’t get the booster yet because people in the third world haven’t received their first dose.

I don’t think you’re a scapegoat (be honest, there are much easier targets than you). I don’t even think you’re a bad guy. I do honestly believe and hope you’ll come around. Obviously, I don’t know what that will take. But, sorry, hearing “you will actually never be able to convince me” and then implying that’s a good thing or whatever after I’ve tried seriously engaging with you on your terms is insulting.
With a vaccination rate of 69% for whole Belgium and 78% in Flanders, it's pretty much over here yeah. No sign of delta-outbreak here.
Must be nice to live in a country where the vast majority of the population has common sense. I'm jealous.
Eh, Flanders is like 30% racist.. So there's also that.
Back to the minorities talking point; we're seeing across the globe that big cities have a hard time vaccinating people. Brussels has only around 40% vaxxed peeps for example. It's not because people don't want it or don't have the access to it. They're just not educated on the vaccin and/or media/education about the vaccin doesn't come through. The city govt (of Brussels) has implemented busses that drive through the city with vaccins on board so that people can get easier vaxxed and they're thinking about going door-to-door to ask people if they want to get the vaccin or not.

I'm around enough anti-vaxxers and vaxx hesitant people in my day to day life that I don't even bother trying to argue with any of them. They're gonna do what they're gonna do and don't care about anything otherwise. So I'm not going to waste my time, whatever happens to them happens.

My sister was fully on board with the anti-vax bs her boyfriend spoon fed her day in, day out. He's the only person in his family to not get it. She was here in ours. Last week we've finally been able to convice her of trying to convice her since June. Yes, we've had arguments. Multiple. The thing that pushed her across the line? She would in the future need to get tested (since every mass event requires negative test or vaccination passport) and pay for them and she didn't want to bother with that in the future. There can always be a reason to tilt someone over to get vaxxed. Don't give up. Talk.

Bing be careful with that door to door vax idea. We thought it might be a good idea and got accused of being Nazi Germany.
Contrary to Flanders and Wallonia, Brussels like many cities in the US, I think, left vaccination up for people who wanted it; you needed to make an appointment and that was just that. So people who really wanted it.. Got it instantly. But this strategy leaves a lot of people behind because some cities don't have that strong of a community as other cities or as on the more rural communities. There came a lot of criticism and with this (but also the busses and locals going around educating people in neighbourhoods) the govt is trying to bridge the gap between not so easily accessable neighbourhoods and communities and authorities. I've heard many stories of how small family Morrocon communities are just not on board with the whole vaccination thing cause they get their (fake)-news via Whatsapp in chatgroups and are being fed with anxiety-fueled news about the vaccins.

I just got the diagnosis that a person never wants to hear. My medical team, who are awesome, are trying to get me scheduled immediately for a hysterectomy. Then we can determine how much the cancer has spread, if it all, and talk to the oncologist about chemo or radiation. Hopefully to save my life. But some people are afraid of a vaccine. Some people are really young and haven't faced some really frightening health issues. Dealt with the pain and symptoms and the endless procedures and bloodwork and doctor visits and now, a surgery. But some people are afraid of vaccine or too stupid to care. Maybe it's naive. Maybe it's hubris.
I find it so frustrating that people won't get the vaccine but as soon as they're sick and scared, they'll run to the doctors for help, which is what you should do, but then why are you taking it for granted? Why is one treatment acceptable or not the other preventative? I don't take anything for granted anymore after looking at death for 2 years now, with a deadly virus raging everywhere, with my Mom almost dying last year (doctors and medicine saved her) and now my own life has a big looming ? above it. I don't pick and choose what my doctors tell me. I have cancer. I have to do what they say. I don't get to bargain my way out this. I just hope that I don't contract covid while I'm in the hospital. That would just be a-fucking-fantastic.
There are worst things out there than a vaccine. We're all dependent upon modern science and medicine to save us. There are no "buts" about it.

Damn.
Hoping for the best for you, that it doesn't spread and you can fight it off.
