My 8 yo (vaxxed) is negative, as are my wife and I (both boosted). Honestly, it would make things less complicated if one of us tested positive.
Update: I tested positive today. Not shocking since I had the worst chills of my life last night. Five hours of full body tremors to the point where I couldn't even use my phone because it kept falling out of my hand. Feeling a bit better this afternoon. Wife and daughter still negative.

Well fuck. Sorry to hear that. Now we know who is designated to take care or the little one. How is he doing?

Ugh. I’m so sorry. Wishing you guys a speedy recovery.
One of ours got sent home today because he was in close contact. The kick in the nuts was he had an hour left of school today and can return tomorrow because the contact was on the 5th (some 6 days ago). They literally just informed us.

You literally aren’t allowed to contract covid this week. Not. Allowed. I. Say.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I’m pretty sure we’re in the clear. Like I said it’s been 6 days and nobody has had any symptoms. We’re home testing tomorrow and scheduled for family tests on Friday before we go our separate ways.

He's fine. Just congested. He's not taking his quarantine seriously, though.

I really don't like this 5 day rule. My boss tested positive and is back in the office. He's wearing a mask and has no symptoms, but I feel like he's still contagious...
The people who are all for the CDC instructions don't tend to include the second part. The first says 5 days quarantine and then you should be good but the second part says "but you should still remain masked for at least 5 days after that to avoid infecting others". So they are well aware people may still be contagious.
I found this out because some of my "come on...we can't shut down" family members seemed to like the new CDC rules and have seemed to think that "you don't have to quarantine after 5 days" to mean "you are completely fine and not contagious after 5 days" which is not the same thing at all.

Hope you’re both feeling better. We also have a 3 year old and I can imagine how hard it must be to keep them from the other parent. Hang in there!!

Here's to a speedy recovery!
I tested positive 2 weeks ago and had similar symptoms. Started with body aches during the day and then woke up that night shivering and sweating. That was the worst of it, but have had lingering symptoms (congestion and sinus issues) since.
My daughter (unvaccinated) and wife both tested positive as well, but are thankfully asymptomatic. I'm just the weak one.
Was told this week that an absent student had covid by another teacher who randomly found out from mom. I asked my admin why I was not notified and apparently “we are not allowed to tell you unless you are in close contact” and since they haven’t been back to school yet, I “didn’t need to know”. And even if you are a close contact they still don’t tell us who. It could literally be anyone I spent more than 15 mins around the past 5 days, staff or student. So I can know my students have eczema and lice and IBS and ringworm but not covid?? Totally makes sense.
I’m glad I took last week off from work. My desk neighbor just tested positive, and I’m sure I would’ve gotten it from her if I’d been around her all week.
The thing is I’ve been around the kid all week so who knows when the five days would be??
When the child started showing symptoms. Of course, if it is like my sisters school district, they won't tell you that.
Yeah it’s all a bunch of bullshit. I guess atm they’re going with if the parents says they can tell or not. 🤷🏻♀️ They started showing symptoms at the very end of the day yesterday, so just about 24 hours.
