I'm not bothered by people being maskless while seated in a restaurant and eating/drinking. You've got some built in distance and you really can't eat/drink with a mask on unless we're moving into human feedbags. I guess I'd actually be down for that while driving since there is so little in the way of entrees that I will eat while driving.
Anyways, if you're going into a restaurant to eat at this point you know that you will be around people without masks. Nothing is being inflicted on you. It is definitely a challenging situation for servers, however. And don't be a monster - wear your mask while your server is at the table. Other than that, I just make sure to only eat places with ample space to eat (booths, etc.).
How's everybody feeling in your household these days cdevaney?
I went back to work Monday. Wife and kids went back to school yesterday. Wife's still feeling it the worst. Had a hard time standing and talking to students all day.
Went to see The War on Drugs tonight and it was insane how many people wore a mask while walking around the venue but took it off once they were seated. People are dumb
thats essentially the indoor restaurant policy for this country even in places that care about covid like NYC SF and DC
True but a lot of these people weren't even drinking. At least at a restaurant it kind of makes sense because you can't eat and drink with a mask on. I just thought it was silly that people were walking around with a mask on and then sat down in an area with a higher crowd density and thought to themselves "i'm sitting down so I guess I don't need the mask anymore."

My wife teaches yoga, and she’s seen lots of something similar - people who wear their mask to the class, but take it off once they get on their mat, because that makes total sense.
I haven't been to my YMCA here in forever despite having a membership because that's their mask policy... MUST wear a mask indoors, unless you're exercising. You know, exerting yourself and heavy breathing all over the damn place. It makes no sense.

Oh no! Hang in there. Plenty of rest & fluids. I took a lot of Advil, too.

Hang in there. You got this. Just treat the symptoms. And let us know how you are doing.
What medicines should I get? I was just going to get Sudafed, but if it's covid, will that be enough? Would DayQuil be better?
I took NyQuil when I had it because the cough would’ve kept me awake all night otherwise. I also got a lot of mileage out of an expectorant, but my main symptom was a dry cough, so YMMV on that.

Sudafed for daytime. Delsym (brand name not generic orange flavored) for cough. NyQuil for night. Tylenol for HA and pain. Motrin as back up. Logenzes and sore throat spray if that gets bad. Gargle with warm salt water and drink hot stuff.

Delsym?? Walgreens says it has no idea what you are talking about.

12 hour cough syrup. Walgreens has it. It does require ID because of dexing.
Oh yeah, you can't postmates that. I can't in good conscience go out anywhere even double masked.
I’m surprised you can get Sudafed. That shit just about needs a passport. Damn methheads.
So I got everything I ordered except the ONE thing I REALLY wanted. I got Sudafed, DayQuil/NightQuil pack and theraflu tea stuff. I really wanted the shower vaper steamer things but that and the cough drops didn't happen. I have some cough drops already so that isn't a deal breaker. I am super sad about the shower vapers. The Theraflu is tasty though and is helping my throat.

Just decided to back out of a trip I had planned with a group of friends next week due to Covid concerns, which sucks as they are friends I'm just getting close with (who live all over the country and I mostly speak to online). Afraid I'm sacrificing yet another opportunity to advance my social life due to this virus, something I've become all too accustomed to for almost two years now. The lack of in-person friendship, concerts, travel, & dating is just such a drain on the mental.
Maybe at this point, it's more my anxiety than rational decision making, but Omicron is peaking and I do have family who are at risk and not vaxxed that I live with. I hope that by Spring I don't feel this way about Covid, it would break my heart to have to give up my planned summer fests. Even as there are lots of scientific reasons to be optimistic about Covid, I find it hard to get myself to actually follow through with sustained periods of living my life like things are normal again. It's easy to just believe that objectively the risk isn't worth isolating for if you're vaccinated, but a whole other thing to actually go through with it. Feels like ever since I got vaxxed there's always been another reason to lockdown. June & July were nice, but then Delta came. October was nice, but then Omciron came. It just feels like normalcy is perpetually two months on the horizon.
