I can't believe they aren't doing the IV treatment anymore. I know three people that got that and it made them 100% better. Idk what they're going to do for him but anything has to better then him just burning up and feeling like he's dying.
Sending you both love, Vieux! Sotrovimab is the only IV treatment that works against Omicron - hopefully they have some in stock there.
We just saw the doctor. They're moving us to a room. Chest x-ray, fluids and a full workup.

I’m so sorry Vieux, I really hope he changes his mind soon.
My brother finally was the first member of my immediate family to get Covid, and he had just about the most mild case possible. Other than going through half a box of tissues one day, he was completely fine and tested negative yesterday!
Oh the he's done was not the MRI. He's done with the hospital. He wants to leave. He's tired of waiting. Grumpy, hungry, in pain and a general pain in the ass.
That wonderful feeling when work keeps emailing you to make and send in sub plans even tho IT IS THEIR FAULT YOU GOT SICK.
good luck with that y’all
That's why my wife went back before she was ready. She felt guilty about them having to find subs for her and her five days were up. She was struggling to keep up with all of the sub plans (she's a specialist who has four grades coming to her every day). She's been back a week and she should still be home.

Good times. Right now we still know nothing. 🙄
This is what duct tape is for. Seriously, don’t leave until you get answers or pain pills. Whichever one comes first.

Gross I hate that for her. I feel bad only bc I’m not a straight terrible person but I also don’t feel bad one bit bc I told them this would happen with the shitshow they are running. I’ve been exposed god knows how many times in the past three weeks with no notification and no lists of kids who needed to be tested etc to return. As far as I know I’ve got 1 student out of 16 vaccinated. I thought I’d be back Monday but if I still feel under the weather I’m not going to. 🤷🏻♀️ They even tried to make me sign on for a zoom spec Ed meeting yesterday!! LEAVE ME ALONE

I wish they'd give him pain pills. We got Tylenol at 8 and nothing since. 🙄
What a shit show. I'm trying to eat now, but I'm sick and throwing up again.
We're home.
So we left with a bang. They never gave him any more medicine, I ran to the bathroom sick. While I was throwing up Jeremy was losing his shit. I talked to the doctor, while he was getting the IV taken out and the nurse was going off on him. The doctor told me it's just the covid. They don't have anything they can do other than give him Tylenol, which she was shocked they hadn't done the whole time we were there. We didn't get discharged just told to go.

Vieux I’m hoping for an update soon. Hoping everything is going okay.
Tomorrow is Day 1 of our new wonderful Governors “personal choice” mask order. Apparently all the kids have been saying in one of my kids class that they’re excited to not have to wear them anymore. I’ve also received enough emails today that at least 24 kids and 3 staff members have tested positive. I’ll probably get more tonight.
So tonight begins the search for private schools or a retired teacher to do homeschooling. Fuck this fucking county.

We must have posted at the same time. Go to the post before yours for our shit show update.

The CDC is now making the same optional mask recommendation for school children. They've had to deal with restrictions that have set back their mental health and education all for a virus that largely doesn't effect them at a significant rate (risk to an unvaxxed school age child is less than the risk to a a vaxxed 20 something, which is extremely low). There's also the option for individuals at high risk levels to wear an N95 mask which offer strong one way protection, or for children with rare comorbidites to homeschool.
I'm personally for the idea of waiting one more month or so before opening things well and truly back up, but it's got to happen at some point. We've got incredibly effective vaccines now, you can't ask society as a whole to hide from it forever. Close to 99% of the hospital patients for Covid are unvaxxed, their need to be tangible endpoints to restrictions for vaxxed people... who by in large just aren't ask risk anymore. Again, I'd personally wait another month to let Omicron levels drop even lower, but at that point we're looking at an endemic where the risk control will be on the individual rather than sweeping mandates that hold back the vaxxed and healthy for no reason.

Yeah. Its Chesterfield (a ‘burb of Richmond if you’re trying to visualize). I’m stoked Richmond Public Schools joined the fight. The new superintendent has honestly surprised me with how much he cares.
This dude is the worst. If I remember right, his kid goes to private school in DC that requires masks.

Is there a link for this? Not saying it’s not true, I just can’t find it. Everything I’ve seen has been “ CDC recommends universal indoor masking by all* students (ages 2 years and older), staff, teachers, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status.”.

Lolllll at masks giving kids setbacks. Guess who cares about masks? ADULTS. My students barely give two shits about wearing masks. Try again buddy. 🙄

Also wtf at that ableism??? Like who cares about disabled people right? You’re gross.
