Yeah, I really can not afford to not work right now. I am hoping that they still offer covid pay and I can work from home. I think IF I test positive I get tested daily until I am negative but I can work from home, maybe. I am not really sure, it isn't the same as the CDC it's definitely stricter, but the fact that I am back in the office right now makes me feel like it isn't THAT strict anymore.
You'll always have that cushy mod salary to fall back on.
Right, doesn't the Illuminati give you double since you're a mod, when it comes to the monthly deposit?
this is semi on topic with Covid but has anyone else npticed that there have been very few show announcements for December, January and February? seems like artists are intentionally not scheduling anything then out of fear of another winter surge
I've seen noticeably less in December, and nothing in Jan/Feb so far.
I haven't bought anything for after mid November. It wasn't originally for Covid concerns but now that I'm thinking of it - it's a good reason to hold off.

I dunno, there have been exceptions but my concert calendar in January and February is usually blank most years so I don't think it's fear of a surge, bands have been going hard this year so this is their break time and they avoid the winter travel headaches.

I think with the traffic jam this year that is September and early Oct it kinda pushed that stuff to not come up yet.
hopefully not! i will say ive had direct exposure to covid for 3 days in a row when my partner got it after Coachella and I never ended up getting it thankfully. so its possible you avoided it
This is her first infection, knocking my never-infected friend count down to less than five now. I really hope you are correct, I am fucking stressing out over this.
EDIT: So I am stressing. I got PCR tested and am back in my six foot squared cubicle office with a hepa cleanser in it, socially distancing waiting for my results. I feel like I should not be here, I do not like this at all.
Hopefully you continue to be negative. I found out my cousin came down with COVID after we were all in Chicago for my nephew's wedding and I was seated with her for all the festivities, yet I didn't catch it at all. Still have never had it!
I am hoping the boosters for omicron are out in September so I can allow myself to loosen it up more at concerts and restaurants - still masking at indoor shows (sometimes I seem to be the only one!) and only eating outdoors, which has been pleasant, but it would be nice not to, especially as the weather gets colder again.

Thanks! Fingers crossed. Still waiting on my PCR test results. I thought that they would be in by now, but I probably won't get them until after I leave the office at 3:30.
I was at Peaches on Saturday with my friend that tested positive today, but we both masked, but we pre-gamed at her house together and smoked up. Plus, I hung with her Friday (smoked together) outside while skating and again on Sunday. She has had this drip/throat irritation since Tuesday she said. I asked what even made her test today, and she said it was due to the fact that the allergy meds cleared her up for a minute, but she was super congested after skating last night and then had a cough this morning.
I don't eat in restaurants, I have only 5 times since covid and it fucked with me. I have been to mostly outdoor shows only, but the indoor shows I have been to I have masked up at. I am also sometimes the only one. I try to be safe for my husband but with this fucking virus it is almost impossible.
My skate bestie didn't have covid before, but does now. If only people that have never been infected get infected, then I MIGHT agree "maybe it's over." But I'm not there yet.
Let me test negative again in Wednesday first before I decide.

Whelp covid isn't over, confirmed. First time testing positive. Ironically I was sick with similar symptoms about a week ago. This time is worse. This is my third day of symptoms. Fever is gone, but throat is on fire.

Theraflu. I highly recommend it. It will make all the difference in the world. Fingers crossed it passes quickly. Feel better. hugs

My dad and stepmom took a group trip to Iceland and returned 10 days ago. My dad told me a couple days ago that there were others in the 16-person tour group coughing on the bus a lot, then my stepmom had symptoms and tested positive the day after they got back.
"I've had some cough and sore throat but it's just the hay fever I always get this time of year," my dad said. I asked if they'd been quarantining at all and he said no, they're still sleeping in the same bed and everything. "I just haven't gotten it and I've been able to do everything like normal" like playing golf with friends, doing volunteer reading to children at the library, going shopping, etc., he said. I asked how many times he'd tested and the answer was none! So I told him to test right away and yep, it was positive.
My parents are educated people, liberals, and they follow the news, even getting the NYT delivered to their home. I'm baffled at how he could be so naive and irresponsible. I'm like, dad, it's actions like yours that have made the pandemic as bad as it is!
