I will ref next game. We have four spots remaining, though piggy pablo wasn't clear whether he was in for next. He gets a spot (and slotted in appropriately) if he was saying he was in when he said he wanted to change things up.
As far as changes for the next game, here's what I am proposing (someone needs to take charge):
- add the doctor role - Compressed timeline - 18 hour days, runoffs allowed (town discretion), 6 hour nights (adjusted for time, I'm not posting at 4am) - auto extensions on vote changes within an hour of the deadline (2 hour extension automatically) - other extensions at ref's discretion (and I will reject most of them) - rounds ending on weekends is permissible
If there's consensus on another rule change, let's talk about it. Otherwise you are agreeing to these conditions.
I would make the two-hour auto-extension conditional on time of day, depending on OG deadline time. Like if the OG deadline is 11pm/12am, pushing it another two hours might not be feasible for some people. Might need more than two hours.

yeah, I meant to explain that better but I have in mind what you have. I think my point is I'm going to set round short and extend if needed instead of setting them normal and still extending.

Review the last page or so for rules Cha he's for next game. In short, there will be a doctor, there will be "weekend" play, and the round deadlines will generally be shorter.

I hadn’t played in 3+ years either! And aside from some clarification I needed once re: strategy of revoting in a run-off (which Jaz properly shamed me for ), most of it came back quickly.

Can we get the official verbiage on the doctor role? I’m assuming each player gets one heal? So if it’s night 4 and all remaining players have been healed the doctor cannot do anything? What happens if someone is saved and there’s an even number of players and the vote is tied at the end of the day?

"At night, the Doctor chooses one player to save. The save is not announced unless the player was going to be whacked. The doctor may save each player once."
I'm undecided on the middle sentence. Do we want the doctor's save to be announced in the post ending the night? Or only announced if it saves someone?
Also, my answer to your last question - the town needs to resolve that. I am loathe to do anything artificial to rectify that situation. If anything, maybe if X hours pass with no resolution, the town passes on a lynch and we proceed to night?

Sounds good to me. The way I've always played is only the person who gets saved is told that the doctor healed them.

So the doctor is basically guessing at who'd be whacked?
Essentially. The doctor also allows the inspector to be a little more loose lipped. The inspector could come out on D2 with info, hoping the doctor hasn't saved them yet, then saved night two and reveal another guess.
If I'm set to be whacked at the Doctor heals me, will it be said that "Jaz was the whack but was saved by the Doctor" or "The attempted whack was saved by the Doctor"? Big implications regarding role information there.

I think it should be the second. First seems like it gives an awful lot away.

When playing the in-person/live-time version of this game, I've had it done both ways. I think maybe more often, even, where it IS revealed who the attempted whack was. But for our version of the game, I think it'd be problematic.

I've actually just seen mods post "it is now day 3" and nothing else in the case of a successful doctor save. Though I will say I'm not convinced about the rule that the doctor can only save each person once, not how I'm used to playing.
