some stuff might be a bit off but that's why it's a psd, I've thrown in some extra backgrounds so not everyone is using the same one but use your own if you can. I've also included the files for the three fonts you need to use this. Let me know if you guys have issue, I've never shared a psd before so I'm not sure how it works. Sorry about the large file size.
With four different polls we still run the risk of one group having say five strong lineups and one group having five weaker lineups (and exaggeration but demonstrating a point). This would result in eliminating a stronger lineup and letting a weaker one into the tourney.
Idea: we do one poll with 20 lineups, the top four get a bye and we seed the rest roughly according to the number of votes. This way everyone gets to be in the tourney and the strength of lineups is preserved via byes/seeding. We get the best of both approaches, without having four different poll threads.
this really makes the most sense, i'm not sure what the purpose of 4 different polls is?
yeah this seems to be the funnest way too. Everyone gets to compete head to head at least once

Question re: this; what do you propose for possible ties in this case?
1) Let's say top 4 is bye, what if there are like 5 or 6 people with the same votes?
2) When determining the seeds based on the placement in the poll, what would we do if there are ties in the votes?
because we designed the game this way, and we would like to run it this way? is it so hard for you to at least respect that?
it’s a way that a good chunk of people seem to agree doesn’t make much sense. I don’t see the point of a bracket if it’s randomized and done with multiple polls.

at this point, you could randomize. Randomization for tie breaking is fine but it seems like it should be a last resort and we should try to level the groups.

1. If we want to keep things completely voter-led, then we could have another poll. Or we could even just ask if two peopleare okay with not having a bye. If someone already clearly has a top 6 lineup out of twenty, they probably wouldn't be too concerned about being in the first round anyway. It wouldn't be hard to find two volunteers. Alternately if that seems like too much or we don't want to ask for/there aren't any volunteers, they could then be chosen at random. Same for question #2. I agree that at some point randomness might have to enter the equation and that's just the rub for some people (and based on this I can see why you want to lead with randomness to avoid the issue entirely), but I just like it being voter-led, and I think between that and just asking if people are okay with being lower-seeded, randomness might not have to enter the equation at all. I don't think it's the biggest deal in the world but I do think everyone should get a chance to be in the tourney in one way or another.

couldn't both of these situations also be applied to the current setup?

Can you possibly make up a proposition for a rule change? It's a bit overwelming when 3/4 people (and that's no shade at y'all, it's just.. overwelming, for me personally atleast) start asking a dozen of questions. We're trying our best for y'all and I think we're pretty open for changes, even this late.

I’ll give it a crack
Prop 1: There will be a poll of all the finalized lineups. The top 4 will be given bye’s and do not compete in the first round (one in each division). The rest are sorted by the order in which they placed. Each “division” will have relatively even strength based on the polling.
There seems to be some division based on ties so I’ll leave that to a different prop if this passes.
no offense but people that don't understand brackets, shouldn't be leading them.
Alright then, you coulda just explained it instead of being snarky.
I wasn't trying to be snarky. I'm just saying not knowing what a bye is made it obvious that you're not very familiar with the format. A bye is like a free pass to the next rd. The top 4 would get a bye into the next rd.

How does not knowing the word "bye" correlate with not knowing how brackets work? I just couldn't make up the meaning of the word in that sentence.

Because it's part of brackets. Byes aresomething that anyone familiar with brackets should know. Just trying to save you some stress, if you have no idea what you're getting into.
