Lmao what's wrong with A$AP Mob and Boy Better Know? First of all I drafted A$AP Mob to let them do their tapes cause I actually like the first one a lot.. (idk why I even need to specify that or why that would matter cause they're not doing covers anyways) and BBK? Really? I didn't think actually cared that much about grime to begin with or were aware that he founded the label with Jme so idk, I thought it was very UK/European type of act that wouldn't be such a big thing. Idk how that's soo rough or anything.
Also what are you talking about not being a lot of 'infinity'? All my three headliners are dead/inactive, I'm closing each day with an infinity type artist on my second stage (before the HLer) and during the day you've stuff like Eric B & Rakim, En Vogue, Sun Ra, Sal-n-Pepa, Anita Baker and not to mention all of the legendary African pioneers you completely branched over, idk. That's a weird point to make towards my line up/schedule. Cause a few podcasts aago someone said that having only Tyler on top of my line up made it seem that there wasn't a lot of newer stuff on there and now you're saying the exact opposite?

Radioheads discography is miles better than Lennon's
Obviously. But this statement doesn't interact with the point I'm making. Would give my left nut to see John Lennon. Would not even fly to Europe to see any one active artist.

That's fair. My point is just that I like radioheads music way more than Lennon's
Yeah, but their peak is clearly elsewhere in time. There's a massive difference with picking only stuff like Jorja Smith, Denzel Curry, Tyler etc.
yeah I take your point. Just when I think of infinity acts I think of acts you can only take in the infinity draft.
Gotcha, yeah that's understandable but I guess some artists (like CHIC, Roots or Chaka Khan aswell) just have really long spanning careers idk and there's as much as infinity as the next band who were really popular in the 80s but disbanded later, idk. But I fully get your point, I guess I just see it different then. Plus I think there's only a small amount of people who reallyyy went for a lot of inactive/dead artists so eh.. idk. Feels weird to mention that..

Right now I'd see a living, past-his-prime Neil Young over Radiohead, so it's certainly not a stretch for someone to prefer prime Lennon over Radiohead.
Radiohead is not the pinacle of music, I'm a fan of them but idk.. Some people just like other bands more and I think you need to respect that aswell.. Dead/inactive or alive.
again, the original statement wasn't just lennon>radiohead, it was Lennon + The Platic Ono band > my entire friday, which i cannot fathom.
obviously being dead is going to provide extra value, but i just think some of yall take that value wayyyyy too far
I think none of us take it far enough. Because I obviously would have drafted Radiohead long before John Lennon in this draft as well. Because I know Radiohead will get more votes.
I'm imagining that this game assumes that this is your one opportunity to see these inactive artists. If the game assumes that we are bringing back these artists and then those artists are living again for the next 50 years and I'll have multiple opportunities to see them throughout my life, that would change my perspective on it.
In my view, a genie has miraculously appeared and given you three wishes, and you are choosing to tell the genie to fuck off.
Other dead acts other than The Doors on my lineup: Serge Gainsbourg Broadcast Arthur Russell Susumu Yokota Andrew Weatherall Two Lone Swordsmen Isao Tomita Muslimgauze The Other People Place
Rare acts that are still alive but are either inactive or past their prime: Boards of Canada Grace Jones DARKSIDE Angelo Badalamenti Mulatu Astatke I-F Suzanne Ciani Roberto Musci
yeah I take your point. Just when I think of infinity acts I think of acts you can only take in the infinity draft.

Some if it’s artist depending too. Like even though Chic tours now that’s essentially a completely different band than it was in the 70’s.
Naming a certain schedule/line up 'filled with B and C acts/artists' is not nice either, trantsgiving and completely boils down to your own taste in music.

yeah im not thinking that deeply into the technicalities of how seeing dead artists actually works, im just assuming all these lineups are taking place in the same universe, and judging based on a combination of my personal taste + how well i think the lineup is built.

and it also interests me how confident yall are that you will be able to see shows again generally soon, especially in america.
we're too incompetent to arm our health care workers with the basics. half the country, including the president, is actively working against flattening the curve. how the hell are we going to effectively and efficiently administrate a vaccine to the point that we can go back to a level of normalcy that we could have 30,000 person stadium shows again?
in my honest view, everyone is an infinity act right now.

I have been about as pessimistic about COVID than anyone on this board but there will be live music again. There will never be another Prince concert.

why are you holding me accountable for someone else saying Tyler up there was bad?
